Why Armageddon Now?

I've been thinking and here's what I've come up with.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the Bible does it not state that the word would have to be preached throughout the entire inhabited earth for a witness to ALL people and then the end would come?

With the world being as vast as it is today, it would be practically IMPOSSIBLE for the witnesses to speak to EVERYONE in the world. So, why wouldn't God have ended the world hundreds or even thousands of years ago when the world was much smaller and when civilization wasn't as far-spread as it is today? Why wait until now... it doesn't make any sense to me.

    Thoughts?

It doesn't make any sense to a rational thinking person. Some-one very clever worked out how many people would need to be visited by every currently living witness and I can't remember the figure but it was a stupid un-achievable number like a million each or something.

Plus they have just reduced the amount of hours each pioneer needs to maintain their title and rank but I don't suppose any active witnesses will even notice.

It could be why they have launched the jw.org as a place for non-witnesses to go and they can then count those numbers. Non-thinking dubs will be fooled once again.

Edited to add how the flip did their website come up? It wasn't me. Don't click on it

Apostle Paul expected armagedon to come in the FIRST CENTURY: "These things happened to them as examples and were written down as warnings for us, on whom the culmination of the ages has come."--1 Corinthians 10:11

divide the world population no. by the no. of "publisher's" hours, you get ~10 minutes of service per year per inhabitant. 10 minutes, not 1/2 second before the door is slammed. The question could be: " Ar---g-d- why NOT now? before I get frustrated again? People had their average 10 minutes "witness" for years now! why not? because the whole thing is a sham.

I have heard JWs say," If Amrmageddon had come 100 years ago, then just think of all those who wouldn't have heard "the truth!"

Thats really dumb, because GOD supposedly reads hearts. He can also see the future and could still make sure that you exist, but he chooses not to use his powers of predestination. Ummm..??? Yeah....

It's like the GB say in the WT magazine, if you want to be "holy" and gain life, just believe whatever the magazine says at any given time.

There is the scripture that says the Son of Man will arrive before the entire circuit of man is preached to thus the WT says that not everyone gets a personal witness but Jehoover will decide when the preaching work is done to his satisfaction.

In other words, nothing to worry about since he doesn't exist.

Amelia, there's a ratio of about 920 people for every publisher out there if my math serves me correct. Currently 8 Million baptized dubs and 7 300 Million people on earth. It's been the ratio for about as long as I can remember. Growing up in the 70's and early 80's, I would always tell myself to be careful not getting caught doing wrong things: "For every 1000 people you see, one is a witness." It didn't help - I alwaysgot caught.

    ACTUALLY...

When Jesus spoke of the "end" he was talking not about Armageddon but the "END of the gentile times." He was speaking to Jews and they were obsessed with when they would be restored to their homeland again. They were very conscious they were outside of God's favor and understood when God's anger rested against them they would be restored to their homeland and become a nation again.

So the end of the "age" of the "end of the system of things" to them, was the current system of things that had them in bondage, thus they longed for the "end" to come.

So the preaching of the "good news" worldwide has a specific fulfillment in relation to November 30, 1947, when the official "end of the gentile times" occurred. Just before the end would occur, the "good news" which was to be preached by JWs, would have been spread worldwide. To emphasize that, early in 1947, president N.H. Knorr went on a worldwide speaking tour. Thus he literally preached the good news worldwide, that is, throughout Christendom nations, and then the end came on November 30, 1947.

Anyway, that is the actual fulfillment of that prophecy. The worldwide speaking tour by NH Knorr in early 1947 that saw the "end" come on November 30, 1947. Recount in Luke a reference to the "end of the apointed times of the nations" showing the context of the Jewish focus on when they would be restored to their homeland. That is the "end of the system of things" = the "end of the appointed times of the nations" that they were talking about. Not Armageddon.

So. That prophecy was, indeed, fulfilled.
