  Weren't the laws under the Mosaic Law done away with (hint, hint, the reason JWs went to the Memorial on Friday). The Mosaic Law contained hundreds of laws that are no longer in place. Most of those laws were enacted due to health reasons, which we understand now but back then it was a novel concept that you don't take a dump where you are eating your meal.

  Also, I would like to thank the old men who write these articles in that most of them probably fantasy about what dirty/evil things they would do to women because obviously, it is the woman that is unclean and tempts a man. Welcome to the 21st Century WTBTS.

  I remember going to the bookstudy when I was younger...we were studying the family book or something, I can't remember...but we were on the section that dealt with sex and passion and all that. A sister made a comment about how Jehoover's law to abstain from sex during menstruation was still vital in our times because ''sex during menstruation causes cancer.''

  So of course I went the rest of my life believing that. When the red dragon came to visit the first time after I moved in with Matt, I was like, ''Sorry hun...no nookie this week.'' He asked why and I told him the red dragon was here. He said, ''So?'' I told him it causes cancer. He started laughing and explained to me that it's ok. I felt like such a goober.

  There's a couple of unreliable references, some bits of scriptures, and the rest is just made up. They don't support any of this with any facts!

  Re the false medical claim Scully was talking about.......

  I am developing a list of false scientific claims & misquotes in WT literature for my web site. (I've already got 2 dozen!) This topic is a great example. Question.....

  Does the article quote that book, & how is the citation worded exactly? I would like to see if my college library can get a hold of that book so I can see exactly what the book says.

  25 years or so ago the Society sent out a new batch of Sunday talk outlines. One of them, "The Godly View of Sex and Marriage" was assigned to me. I ended up delivering that talk about 20 times between my home cong. and others, it being, (I wonder why?) a real Hall packer. Surrounding congs. who's elders were too shy to give it themselves called me regularly. It got into everything from masturbation, oral/anal, and sex during the menstrual cycle (not to be confused with sex on a motorcycle). All of the above were touched on.

  Anyway, enough nostalgia. The fact is that the real focus of all ancient religious laws concerning sex and marriage had simple, practical purpose. Have as many children as possible (infant mortality was high and expected life spans short) and men needed to stick around and feed and clothe their offspring, bastards usually starved to death.

  The WTS simply came up with psuedo medical reasons to back up the old Brooklyn coots hang ups.

  Gregor! You had to give those talks! You must have legendary 'brass balls' to have had to do that! I used to hate it as a child, when the 'sex' talks went the rounds again. As far as I'm aware, they don't do those talks anymore, unless someone can enlighten me otherwise!
