I used to do everything for others, but if I needed something there was no one to call. On 2 occasions I even had to drive myself to the ER because my other half™ was doing something more important.(watching TV).
For the last 2 1/2 years I've been the center of my own universe. Whatever I want, I buy. I do what I want, and feel no need to explain myself to anyone.

What a good question! It has been so long, since I've done anything for myself, that I'm not sure what to do.....except, I think I'll make that appointment for a hot stone massage! My daughter's b/f gave me a gift certificate for Christmas. Suppose I'd better do it eh?
We spend so much time, looking after the family, making sure the kids get what they need, get to all their football practices, school trips, etc., etc.There's little time for anything else at the end of the day.
You know? I think it's been 13 years, since hubby and I have even gone away together, without the kids!!! YIKES!

hey collegegirl21!! Good for you !- but pleeeeeese you be careful!!!!!! I had a roommate (girl) that had really terrible experiences in the army. they totally tore down her personality and built her back up into this robot. it took her years to become herself again... :( also a bunch of other really BAD things that the "superiors" do to the girls... that stuff STILL goes on in the armed forces even though they say it doesn't... please take care.

I've an appt booked at the salon this evening for a deluxe spa pedicure. It includes: soak, cuticle clean up, file & shape, exfoliation, callous removal, mask, leg & foot massage and paint.

I never buy stuff for myself and when I do I tend to feel guilty about it.
But I just last week have made a huge step in overcoming this problem!
I bought myself and iPod Video!!!!!!!!!!!! (Can you tell I like it?!) I never had an ipod before, but I have wanted one for years.
If anyone else has a problem like mine, I recommend buying an iPod, too! I will fix ya right up! It is hours of FUN!

In the years since I unjaydubbed, I've done a hell of a lot for myself. Even the "good works" have been because it gave me pleasure to be helpful. I've bought myself a big gaudy wardrobe, a jewelry collection, started a little business, ... oh, you said "lately"....
Well, I just bought these two books:

- Black Magic: Religion and the African American Conjuring Tradition by Yvonne Patricia Chireau
