Can anybody please help me out with some links on the cross versus torture stake debate either on JWD or external sites? I know there was a thread on here not so long ago but I can't find it.
Also, if any of you long time posters can recommend any outstanding ones from the deepest recesses of JWD which you might have kept as favourites, I would be most grateful

Here is a link that contains a scan of the "Imperial Bible Dictionary" which the WT uses as a quote in their 'Reasoning From the Scriptures' book. Notice how the WT manipulates the quote through an ellipse to achieve the reasoning in their publication, while hiding information that contradicts their position.
Thank you kenneson - that lack of comparison of the stake to Asherah (sp?) poles when witnesses so enjoy equating a cross with pagan symbols has made me think a lot (this was partly why I'm wanting to look more into the subject)
Thank you too MrsCongeniality for the Scripture quote. I think (I need to double check this) that the Reasoning book has some refutation against the plural translation of 'nail/nails' but I just had a quick read of the link that no one posted and the correct reasoning seems to be there.
Thank you no one - it's always a huge help to read where they get their quotes from and look at the full version and see what's been omitted.
