Woman with a flat tire. Would you have stopped to help when you were a JW?

My going to the assistance of a woman or man, for that matter, has never been dependent upon my being a Jehovah's Witness. I have always tried to assist my fellow human family as much as life would allow for me.

In my previous life, my handicapped husband and I maxxed out on our free towing with AAA after 12 tows in one year.
I was the recipient of help from many a knight in shining armour along the freeways and side roads of America. -

this scenario is actually presented in a watchtower in the seventies: 'You're on your way to the meeting and a disfellowshipped woman on her way there too is having auto trouble. You should stop to help.' This was retracted in a later article that wasn't written by Franz that asserted that disfellowshippees don't actually exist; they're not actually humans. Pretend they're not there.
I'd have stopped to help her.

There is no harm in helping out a fellow human being when in need just as we would like them to help us. I am sure the JWs receive help from the "worldly" people at one time or other. That's the way I used to think.

ballistic, don't worry, won't find me driving in the UK, I'd be scaring everyone by driving on the wrong side of the road.

Used to debate this with my ex-wife. Without reference to JWism (she was a tentative, new convert,) she always worried that someone we'd stop to help would hurt or rob us. I was always of the mind to help anyone you can. Of course certain circumstances might prevent you from doing so.
Back then we didn't have cell phones. Today, I think I'd agree with those who've said they'd offer the use of their cell phone.

hehe, yeah we drive on the left side, which is the right side to drive, right?

I'd have stopped, helped her with the tire. Then she'd have felt emotionally obliged to hear my 15 minute presentation of the "Meaning of life brochure". Then I'd have added 1 point in the "brochure" column of my service report. I would have also been able to report the 15 minutes, so I'd have counted as an active publisher that month. I would have told the brothers at the convention about this marvelous 'experience' which I'd have considered Jehovah's belssing and a clear sign that angels are directing the preaching work.
So many reasons to stop and help this poor woman in need! Pole -
