BIBLE TRANSLATION: When there are sufficient translators and there is the prospect of an adequate circulation of the complete Bible, a request may be made to the Writing Committee to begin work on the New World Translation. A regular edition of the Christian Greek Scriptures without marginal references will be published first. It is not necessary for Bible translators to know Hebrew and Greek. They do not necessarily have to be the translators with the most experience, but they should be good translators who are both faithful and willing to follow directions very closely. Both brothers and sisters may be used.

  Since they read the bible which was written under holy spirit, and since they do everything according to the bible that everything they write is under holy spirit. they will never admit they would be directed DIRECTLY by holy spirit, much like the appointments for elders etc.

  Heaven forbid a sister write something that deals w/scripture. Only "womens' issues"!! Maybe her latest recipe? Dealing w/abusive elder husbands? oops.............

  And it should be kept confidential; elders not sharing with their wives what they wrote?? COME ON. We didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday! We KNOW that elders' wives are some of the worse gossips in the cong.

  Notice that the writers are NOT anointed! The publications can be written by just about any JW.

  From my own experience, I'd say this referred to Awake! articles and those experience-type articles in the W/T but not doctrinal articles.

  They say that the first response that comes to mind is usually the correct one.

  In this instance, the first thing that comes to mind is that if God is directing the writing of the Awake magazine, then he (or she / they / it / or whatever) is not much of a god.
