Although I havent been to a hall in 15 years, there is apparently a MS who was working for another JW, who over the course of several years managed to skim over US$100,000 off the business. He was DF'ed, but no charges were filed. They expect to see him reinstated within a year of course. Hopefully someone drops a dime to the IRS!

we had the usual tupperware, pampered chef, vitamins, all of that but also had a pyramid scheme. I dont remember exactly how it worked but the ones on the top were getting money and the ones on the bottm were not. When I was approached by a "sister", I was like no thanks that is a scam. She was so offended. I dont think she even had the brain power to know it was a scam. Anyway, I dont know how many got burned but we had a local needs talk about that type of scam a short time later.

Lets see, there was Shaklee, some Aloe crap, And probably the biggest one, was A.L. Williams Life Insurance. I recall one "brother" actually went to prison for that. (of course, the biggest scam was selling magazines....LOL)

Tahitian Noni juice-A father and son combo got into it on the ground floor, and made a mint! They started driving really nice cars, and moved to a much nice State than here. Very spiritual, of course

There was some guy in New Mexico that was supposedly a doctor who was treating all kinds of JWs in the 80's. He did the whole let me see your eyes, your feet, yada, yada, yada. One woman mentioned to me that when she ate white sugar, he always knew it because he could tell by her eyes and he would spank her. YES I SAID SPANK because she was disobeying his orders. It was my understanding that the JW doc was not really a doc, but some kind of wack/quack. Anyone from N.M. know of this story. I was never sure if she was making it up or not, because it just sounded so over the top.
