Actually, any money from the sale of the KH will go back to the non-profit corporation formed by the congregation with 3 elders in the congregation acting as corporate officers. None of them hold shares in the corporation, nor do the congregation members. But they can submit resolutions to the congregation as to how the money will be spent. Someone will "move" on these, another will second, then the congregation will vote. I am thinking that the funds will go towards the building of a new hall.

In view of the fact that there are only a few short weeks or months before the outbreak of Armageddon™ would it not make more sense to send in all the money to the WTBTS for the WWW and just meet in a tent until then. I could vote for that....

Most congregations I know of, Poztate, would find your statement hilarious. Few give money to the WTS when in the midst of building a KH. That is why the rank and file continue to buy vehicles, building homes, buy homes, have children, and plan vacations, because they don't think the end is coming tomorrow. They are waiting for the cry of peace and security.

Now please don't laugh when I ask this question,but I'm curious: Why didn't the hall sell the first time round? Were there any interested buyers? Was the asking price too high?

You're asking good questions, Steve.
It's not clear if they removed the Hall from the market, or simply removed the For Sale sign from the lawn.
If they simply removed the sign back then, then I'd say it has something to do with our exposing here.

If I find the thread where this was discussed, I'll post it here.
