The Goof with the Troof (in the spirit of the Cat in the Hat)

I read "Cat in the Hat" to Zach tonight and became inspired. You be the judge if it was "inpsired of demons", "inpsired of God", or just gas. The Goof with the Troof

    The sun did not shine.
    It was a miserable day.
    Life seemed so empty.
Just so cold and so gray.

    I sat there forlornly.
    I didn’t belong.
I said, “How I wish that
    Someone would just come along.”

All I could do was to
    Sit!
    Sit!
    Sit!
    Sit!
And I did not like it.
    Not one little bit.

    And then
    The doorbell went “Ring!”
How that ring made me sing!

    I looked!
And I saw him standing, under my roof.
    I looked!
    And I saw him!
    The Goof with the Troof.
    And he said to me,
“Why do you sit there aloof?”

    “I know the world’s awful
    And no place to live.
But what I will teach you
    Is what God can give!”

    “I know some good verses,”
    Said the goof.
    “I know some good news,”
Said the Goof with the Troof.
    “A lot of good news.
I will teach it to you.
    But your family will surely
    Object if I do.”

    Then I honestly
Did not know what to say.
    My family had beliefs, but
    This might be The Way.

But my friend said, “No! No!
    Make this goof go away!
Tell that Goof with the Troof
You do NOT want him to stay.
    He should not be here.
    He should not be about.
    He should not be here,
But he is! Send him out!”

    “Now! Now! Have no fear.
Have no fear!” said the goof.
    “My troof is not bad,”
Said the Goof with the Troof.
“Why it’s all from the Bible,
Not a word one from man.
I’ll show it to you free!
    How’s that for a plan?”

“You’ll show us?” said my friend.
    “I’m sure that you will,
But will you be biased?” he asked.
    “Can we verify your swill?”

“Have no fear!” said the goof.
“I will not let you down.
I will teach from the Bible!
    I’m not some church clown!
I’ll have a book in my hand,
    We’ll read it, we three.
But that is not all we will do!”
    Said he.

    “Look at this!
Look at this now!” said the goof.
“With a book and a Bible
    In each of my hands!
    I can prove most anything.
    Now isn’t that Grand?
    Here is 1914,
    And God’s stand on blood.
    And those evolution scientists?
    Well, their name is ‘Mud’!
    But that is not all!
    Oh, no.
    That is not all...

    “Look at this!
    Look at this!
    Look at this NOW!
It is fun to learn Troof
But you have to know how.
I can teach you about Moses
    And Noah and Job.
I can show how they all believed
Just as I do, ‘round the globe.
    Look at these prophecies!
They all point straight to us!
We’re in the very end of all end times.
And you nearly missed the bus!
But time is not too short
    For Jehovah to reach you.
    He just needed me
To stop by, and teach you!
    But that is not all.
    Oh, no.
    That is not all...”

That is what the goof said...
Then he fell on his head
    When my friend asked him,
“What of those that have left?
    Are they all miserable?
    Is their life bereft?
Do you even know what has become
    Of your former ‘brothers’?
    The ones you called ‘Chum’?

    “Oh, you’re speaking of apostates!
    Those that failed the test!
    They don’t walk among us,
    But it’s for the best.
    They lacked good hearts,
    Always searching for ‘proof’
They were dead from the start.”
Said the Goof with the Troof.

    “But what they were lacking
    You have, I am certain.
    You want to join up,
    Before God drops the curtain!”

But I saw then and there
    That something was up.
There were holes in his logic.
This would NOT fill my cup.

    “My friend here is right,”
    I said to the goof.
“My life is bad, true enough.
    But I don’t need a ‘Troof’.
    My life lacks substance,
    As does yours, I’m afraid.
But filling the void with vacuum
    Won’t leave me allayed.”

    I opened the door.
    I pointed him out.
    He hung his head sadly,
    He started to pout.
    “Life’s water is free,”
    He mumbled as he walked.
    “It’s free for all,
    for you, and for me.”

“That may be true,” I shot back,
    “But perhaps it is not.
    Perhaps what seems free,
    Isn’t worth what you thought.

    Have you truly researched it?
    Have you proven it true?
If you’re wrong, your life’s wasted.
    THEN what will you do?”
    His eyes opened somewhat.
    He hadn’t thought this before.
    But then they settled back.
And he walked out the door.

    Will he think about things?
    Will he consider our words?
Did we waste a few moments,
Or will he leave the herds?

Should we have spoken at all?
Was it the right thing to do?
    Well, what would you do
If some goof talked to you?
