We look at the bullhorns as an emergency tool needed to spread the word of the Lord," said 18-year-old Ronald Plimpton.

I have never ever heard a JW say "the Lord". It sounds too mainstream. I think it's either a joke or a reporter got a hold of some fringe JW.

Several sociologists fear these extreme actions by the Jehovah's Witnesses may prompt other institutions and groups to resort to similar methods.

Why be concerned? JWs used bullhorns in the 1800s and it didn't stick then either. Why would sociologists be bothered to comment about bullhorn use?

"When you have something people want, there's no need for noise."

    Good point.

Sound cars also were built to cruise along the streets and in public places to sound forth literally the Kingdom message from recorded discs. As the years of the 1930’s passed, this sound service grew to substantial proportions

With a sound car on a hilltop, the Kingdom message could be heard miles away (above)

Some of that transcription equipment was installed in automobiles and on boats, with loudspeakers on the roof to make the sound carry farther. Bert and Vi Horton, in Australia, operated a van with a large sound horn mounted on top that was inscribed with the words "Kingdom Message."

LOL...very funny. Most dubs don't want people to hear their message anyhow. They are most happy when people don't come to the door. Besides, if they used bullhorns, people would prolly start chucking stuff like over-ripe fruit and vegis at them and then their nice service clothes would get all messed up. Awwwww

Ice cream truck plays whimsical music = people's mouths water and they come running fast to buy the product they love so much and have been eagerly awaiting all day.

JW truck comes by blasting preachy false teachings = people go inside, close their doors, plug their ears, safeguard the kids, and hopefully call the cops.

"We look at the bullhorns as an emergency tool needed to spread the word of the Lord," said 18-year-old Ronald Plimpton. "Maybe the residents didn't hear the door knock because they were in the bathroom or working in the basement."

I suppose it would never occur to a JW that people just don't want to hear their worthless shit?
