    Does Fate Rule Our Lives?

Or Does God Hold Us Responsible?

HOW would you anser those two questions? Of course, you may never have thought about the matter. Or you may wonder what the questions have to do with each other, saying, "Of course God will hold us responsible for what we do. And whatever fate has in store for us will happen.'

If this is your opinion, please stop for a moment and think!

Yes, this is verbatim from the tract which I'm sure someone counted as a placement even though it was left on the counter of Lauck's Bakery here in Fresno in the Tower District.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program! Would anyone like a copy? PM me your info and I'll make a copy and mail it to you.

another gem can be found in the "footnote of sorts" which says:

"In the Koran, we read the following. "After those prophets We sent forth Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming the Torah already revealed, and gave him the Gospel, in which there is guidance and light........" blah blah blah, but here comes the kicker..." Some claim that the Torah, Psalms and Gospel --parts of the Bible--have been corrupted, but such a claim would mean that God could not protect the books he gave. Those asserting this thus accuse God of being weak."

LOL now how's that for a spiritual bombshell. "Religion is a snare and a racket" style writing. Now that's what I'm talking about!

I just wanted to add, this tract is full of words, sentences and paragraphs that mean absolutely nothing.

    For example:

Don't say: 'This is a very difficult task; I am unable to do it.' Would God promise life and then make it impossible for some individuals to find it? If the information we need is in the Bible, will not God help us in our investigation of that book? Just put forth a sincere effort. It is the most worthwhile think you can do.

Yes, friends, that is an entire paragraph. It is written on an 8th grade level, MAXIMUM. What mind barf.

I can't help but to think that the writing dept must feel miserable inside, but keep quiet about it. Having to come up with worthless crap over and over again has got to take it's toll.

They are two entirely different questions. Just because we don't believe in fate does not mean we believe in an interested God. I hold myself responsible - I don't need to project an imaginary authority in order to feel like my actions are important.

Sounds like something written particularly for Muslims, given that the footnote contains a quotation from the Koran. They have a brochure specifically for Muslims, too.

Abraham fathered two sons. One by his wife Sarah and one by Hagar the hand maiden . God Blessed Issac the son of Sarah and thats where the messiah would come thru. Hagar and her son were sent away and thru Ismael a great nation would come and that is today the muslims. The muslims claim in the Koran that the jews changed the Torah and God gave the blessing to Ismael not Issac and they are the chosen ones. The jews were very careful when writing the Torah and they made sure they copied it correctly. That seems to be why muslims hate the jews so bad. Yucca

sir82 is correct. The WTS has a tract primarily for Muslims, and one for Hindus. There could be a couple of others but I can't think of them right now. They started printing them in the early-90s...I think.

sir82, that's what I thought as I read the quotes...I wonder how many Hindus and Muslims actually become JWs...and not ones already converted by "Christendom"?

Sad how they run after leaving it...if they took pride in their message they'd face someone and see it get into someones hands.

Yucca, what about Katura Abraham's third wife? Who in the line of spiritual descendants from Abe came from the line of Katura and why do the Muslims hate Him and His followers?
