Did any elders have the 'testicular fortitude' to approach you? (page 2)

I gave a letter explaining how I felt about certain teachings of the WT to the PO and said in it that if the elders could show me scripturally that I am wrong, they are welcome to come by anytime. That was in October 2004, none have come yet.

A slightly amusing story was when I had been successfully faded about 5 years; I was still young and stupid to be honest and had been to a party just outside of Manchester City Centre; The party had gone on into the morning and when I decided to leave at 9am it was still in full flow.

I arrived at the train station extremely worse for wear with god knows how many substances still present in my body and low and behold the convention was on at Manchester...the train station was swarming with stepford sisters and lusting brothers and who should crop up but an elder from the congregation I used to be part of. I mustve looked a mess...it was a typical student party so I was in scruffy jeans and an aptly named t-shirt with the words STONED written on the top left hand side! I can still remember to this very day what I was wearing...

To make matters even worse when I saw him I had the attack of the giggles, the irony of seeing him had got to me and no matter how much I tried to surpress my smile it just didnt work.

This f***wit elder trundles over and asks me why I wasnt going to the convention....now the temptation to simply say 'because I am off my face and wouldnt be good company' was great but I did manage (sadly) just to say that I hadnt been to a meeting in goodness knows how many years and so therefore didnt see the point in going to a convention. Get this though...he actually asked me whether I was going to work!!?

Of course I allowed him to carry on in this fantasy and I went my own sweet way....however looking back I wished I had put him firmly in the picture about my exact previous evenings and early morning antics!

On topic although a different slant on the topic...I think it mustve taken balls to approach me and I dont for one minute think that he was ignorant as to my state...my pupils mustve been shot to hell and my speech blurry too....I expected to receive a knock on my door for a number of weeks afterwards although I never did!

I go to one meeting in 20, no service for 4 years now.
NEVER has an elder called me out, or up. One of them won't talk to me without another elder present; he is a pathological liar. Are you listening, David? Go back to Nebraska.
The others are gutless.

It took the Batman and Robin team 9 years to make first contact with me. I gave them 10 questions and 9 years later they had sill not gotten back to me.

Because they believe Shepherds are there to prod or beat the sheep. They forget that Jesus is the gatekeeper. They forget that the law of Christ is the fence. They forget that they answer to Jesus for what they do and fail to do in his name.

i had one elder in particular trying, i also studied for a while with a great man who i respect very much. i just couldn't get the same feeling back and then i realised. once you've seen through it, that doesn't come back.

If you think about it that's actually a good thing. They are no position, (except in their own small minds) nor do they have the caliber to "upbuild" anyone. IMO Dismembered
