Why can't i ask questions?

welcome to the board " where it is not only o.k. to ask questions, but encouraged." these questions should be asked by all who even think about getting involved with Jehovah's Witnesses, before dedicating their life to the WTB&TS. notice i said a society, not God. by being baptized in this religion, you are not comitting to serving God & Christ, but to following the man made rules of a money making business, where you are not allowed to question their teachings, past or present, unless you want to be viewed as "weak in faith."

it is not your fault that you were not allowed to see things as they really are. take the time now to question all that you have been taught,as the bible encourages, do research, find what it is that makes your life fulfilling & stick with it. regardless of what someone says you need, only you know what makes your life what it should be.

just my personal opinion, of coarse.

i think the reason u cant ask the questions, or think objectively is because if everyone did, it would all be over for the borg.... the whole thing would finish and everyone would walk away... its ridiculous how little truth there is in the "truth"... but hey, at least now we all know to question all... it teaches us all a valuable lesson... truth is never what it seems...

    Member,
We're glad to have you with us. Most of us were where you are today.
One of our friends, Quotes, had an interesting expression during his radio interview with that Canadian station. It was called "disclosure", and it makes so much sense.
If the WT society used that practice (it'll never happen) they would tell folks prior to baptism about the dates, the NGO, the blood fractions, the teaching flip-flops, etc. They would encourage folks to go the Quotes site (any of the some 7 that replaced the site the WT shut down) and see for themselves what they actually printed in the early (and not so early) years. With disclosure like that there may still be joiners -- but you could count them on your hands and toes.

In the first chapter of the book " What does the bible really teach " students are encouraged to be humble and ask questions until they find satisfying answers. Why then, did no one reveal to me the history of the WTBTS before i became a baptized publisher? WHY?! Why do we encourage those of other faiths to look into their religion objectivley and yet we are not allowed to do the same of ours? Why does the WTBTS nearly always tear down and hardly every build up those of other beliefs?

You must remember all Jw's and leaders are human just like you and they may not know the answer and are to embarrassed to admit it.

Why is name calling used to catergorize any who turn away from the JW faith as people of bad character, when this is not always so? Human error.

Why are not the Governing Body as candid about their errors and the past errors of the WTBTS as the bible writers were? They are candid about their errors , try reading the reasoning from scriptures book.

Why does the year text " We must obey God as ruler rather than men " seem so ironic when hanging in a KH? If the congregation does not follow the scripture, " We must obey God as ruler rather than men " , then what will you accomplish by pointing it out to them? Just follow that scripture all the time, for yourself. .

Why was i so blind? ??????????/

Why am i judged and why have i judged a persons spirituality and their worth as christians by the amount of time they spend in the field service? That can be made right at any point and time you choose to do that.

Well, then, jw, if these men are only human, not divinely led, why follow them? A blind man is better off with a stick than to try and follow another blind man.

I did, jw. Until they formed a Judicial Committee to bring me up on apostacy charges. Anyone who really obeys God rather than men is an apostate from the Governing Body's perspective, because the men who's orders you reject is the Governing Body.

    I'll give you an example:

1 Timothy 5:20 — Reprove before all onlookers persons who practice sin, that the rest also may have fear.

When JWs reprove, they do it in private. Always in private. Occasionally, they announce a result of the private meeting, but the reproof itself occurs in secret. Someone being reproved cannot even record the proceedings with the elders permission and knowledge if they beg and plead to do so.

When I tried to reprove wrongdoers before all onlookers, I was accused of spreading true things that detracted from the opinion of the organization. My response? "I must obey God as ruler rather than men." Their response? "We want you to come to a Judicial meeting at the Kingdom Hall."

When I asked whether I could record the meeting and was told I could not, I explained that I would not be there. I disassociated myself the Sunday following. When pointing out what God's word says—in plain language—is considered apostasy, there is something wrong. It turned out that my discussion with someone regarding 1 Timothy 2:5 was the reason for the Judicial Committee. The Bible says Jesus is the mediator for all mankind, the Governing Body disagrees.

If YOU teach what the Bible says, you will be disfellowshipped for apostasy.

Then they should not expect unquestioning loyalty to everything they say.

    Human error.

    See above

They are candid about their errors , try reading the reasoning from scriptures book.

Reasoning book?????????? How long you been a dub jw? You ever even read the rs book? There is nothing in the rs book about errors. The proclaimers book is a white washed history

If the congregation does not follow the scripture, " We must obey God as ruler rather than men " , then what will you accomplish by pointing it out to them?

If the congo doesnt follow scripture and you want to do as the bible says then you should leave that cong (org) Duh

Just follow that scripture all the time, for yourself. .

Sounds like exactly what member is doing here jw. The sooner someone leaves the troof the sooner they can start figuring out what the scriptures mean to them. Your a trip jw.

Dont worry member. You are in the same boat as 99% of us. Its embarrassing knowing you've been duped, but its all good from here.
