Yes undecided, but it makes a mockery of the whole idea of having a literal number.
What will JW's be like when...

"You cannot have an unlimited supply of new annointed every year or the number would exceed 144,000."
In the rational world that is a rather obvious fact but in the strange and often absurd JW world everything is possible. Who would think that there would still be 8000 anointed in the year 2006 71 years after their number was completed? There should hardly be any by now.
They say these 8000 are mostly replacements for the failed anointed (those that disagreed with the GB for example and got expelled?) and I can't see why there wouldn't be more replacements over the next 100 years to replace some failed replacements. -

Of course, the WTS teaches only the "male" anointed have any chance of running things on earth and only those that qualify to be elders. Strange though it may seem, not all the male anointed JWs are elders. Then what happens if all the male anointed die and only a few female anointed JWs are on earth...will the non-anointed male JWs step in.
In status and authority on earth, any baptized male JW has authority over any female anointed JW.
The WTS has said that the elders are being trained to take over when the anointed are all "gone." Not to take over as the GB but to run things administratively on earth under the direction of the GB in the sky, or rather the FDS in the sky, the 144,000, all the anointed now dead, resurrected, given immortality, and ruling in heaven.
The marriage of the Lamb (Jesus) to the bride (144,000) is supposed to take place right after the destruction of Babylon the Great (all religions except WTS). Will that take place with all the anointed dead and in heaven? Does that mean that those younger anointed will die young to meet their bridegroom? The WTS avoids that question.
Do you want to know who will be in charge when the anointend are gone...they're already in charge, trained by the GB and its companions, the "princes of the earth," the elders. BTW, the WTS still teaches that Abraham, David, Isaac, Job, etc., will be resurrected early to take a leading part in this administration.
*** Revelation book chap. 41 p. 297 God’s Day of Judgment—Its Joyful Outcome! ***
With regard to the earthly resurrection, "the righteous" will include faithful men and women of old—Abraham, Rahab, and many others—who were declared righteous as to friendship with God. (James 2:21, 23, 25) In this same group will be those righteous other sheep who died faithful to Jehovah in modern times. Likely, all such integrity keepers will be resurrected early in Jesus’ Millennial Reign. (Job 14:13-15; 27:5; Daniel 12:13; Hebrews 11:35, 39, 40) No doubt many of these resurrected righteous ones will be assigned special privileges in overseeing the tremendous work of restoration in Paradise.—Psalm 45:16; compare Isaiah 32:1, 16-18; 61:5; 65:21-23.

explanation that the WTS has ever come up with so far.
Changing the rules for the anointed will be assigned to the janitor at WTS headquarters to devise on his lunch break.

Ergo,no 1914 then there can be no 1918 inspection..... The central CORE doctrine of the Watchtower, yes the reason the Watchtower came into existence was to declare Jesus second coming in 1914.When the prophecy (derived from William Miller of 1842) failed they said that he came "invisibly".
Ergo,no 1914 then there can be no 1918 inspection and sealing of the 'anointed' so the entire wts doctrinal superstructure comes crashing down like a house of cards --------------- Jehovah's Witnesses are thinking and the Watchtower is shrinking, i was in the cult and now i'm out.- Danny Haszard Bangor Maine -

It'll be interesting to see if anything happens at the WT on the 100th year anniversary of 1914.
It'll have to make the r&f stop and think a little.

Danny, you know I love you man - as much as one apostadude can love another. I just wanted you to have that warm, fuzzy feeling before I smack you upside the head!
Having read both of Ray Franz' books and more recently 'The Gentile Times Reconsidered' by C. O Jonsson you'd be forgiven for believing that losing 1914 and the 607 B.C.E date for the destruction of Jerusalem would end in disaster for the Society. Sorry but I just don't think so.
I'm sure many of the long-time Witnesses who know the history of the Society would truly have problems but most of the dubs just don't care! Think about it, remember all those dubs you used to hang out with. When did you ever discuss Russell, Rutherford or the choronology of the neo Babylonian period. Nah! You just went to the meetings, did your bit of field service and then made plans for the weekend.
The Society could dump 1914 and adopt the 587/6 date and 95% of the dubs would not even think twice about it. There might be some questions floating around, some undoubtedly would leave while others would remain and 'ripple the waters' for a while but in the end everyone would just end up back in their cult-induced stupor.
