Three cheers to Randy Watters - I hope he's recovering OK

Even though I'd been long out, I came online and quickly discovered Randy's "Watchers of the Watchtower World", Gary Busselman's "Armageddon Okies", H20 Discussion Forum with mtzion (carmel/caveman,eligah), Tina, Dannybear, Golf, Farkel, AlanF, JanH, Norm, Kent ..... and Kent Steinhaug's "Watchtower Observer". These places were the first objective places I found with good solid information about the Watchtower/JW cult.

Before that I had spent a good deal of time trolling through libraries for information about everything from the evolution to christianities true origins. Theses sites and posters provided more than enough information to fill in most gaps. One would have to be a complete moron to spend time at Randy's site and still consider themselves a Jehovah's Witness.

Randy's exit story was one of the first things I found on the net, and the biggest reason I stopped going to meetings - along with Gary Busselman's writings and Quotes website. I just ordered and received Crisis of Conscience through Randy's website. All the best to you, Randy!

Before I found Randy's site, I had lurked on many "apostate" sites. Most of what I read was full of bitterness and hatred against JW's that somewhat clouded the logic of their arguments or else there was an obvious religious agenda attached.

"Freeminds" was very different. It was an insider's view that was totally believable to those who were insider's themselves. The intent seemed not to be one of revenge or malice but simply an expose of the facts. Those who were willing to open their eyes and ears to see and hear the testimonies, could not deny their ring of "truth".

Randy, you are on my list of people who have changed my life in a big way! Thank-you! There's no way I can ever repay you!

The information on Freeminds was one of the main reasons I made my decision to leave the wts. It helped to confirm the suspicions I had that all was not right in the jws, and certainly speeded up my exit. I will always be indebted to Randy for that, so CONGRATULATIONS Randy on reaching this milestone, here's looking forward to the next million.

I also found his site very useful and particularly liked what he wrote about the events in Bethel back in the early 1980's with the expulsion of those that wanted to study the Bible without the WTS publications, which to the GB was an act of apostasy.

That made me realise that the GB were a bunch of impostors without a Christian personality and they certainly weren't under the guidance of the Holy Spirit given their behaviour.

Even as a die-hard JW I had an incling that something big happened in Brooklyn Bethel in the early '80's (the watchtower hints and arse covering was fairly blatant). The revelation in the mid-eighties that GB decisions were made by consensus was the begining of the end for me.in

Only on reading of Randy Watters Bethel experience (and much later Crisis of Conscience) did it all become clear. The dawgs were well and truly out of the bag confirming what I'd thought. Ray Franz leaving had the Governing Body quaking in their boots that the rank and file might realise that the only access they had to the divine was in their own deluded imaginings.

*I don't know why Randy and some of his pals like being called 'dawgs' .. another american mystery.

Wow, I'm really stunned. You guys and gals are my true friends through all these years! Brings tears to my eyes, and I'm happy to be here and do this work. I love you guys! I'm getting a whopping 1600+ unique visitors per day and it keeps goingup. This site has a lot to do with it I'm sure. My logs for April follow if you're curious. By the way, I'm doing really great in health right now, going to doctors for a check up tomorrow.
