Dark Chocolate recommendation

I live in the US and would like to experiment tasting some dark chocolates. I've tried Hershey's Extra Dark, 60%. It was ok. I think I would like something a little stronger and with a better "feel"...the Hershey bar melted fine, but had a "waxy" feel/taste.

I'd even like to try a chocolate made outside the US, but would be concerned about shipping (I wouldn't want it to melt). Any suggestions? Brands, where to buy, etc...

The swiss chocolate makers Lindt do one with 85% cocoa and another with 75% they call them Lindt Excellence. In my opinion they are quite good.

I like Godiva too. Also, in a quick fix, Dove dark chocolate is pretty good - especially the little medallions. I just pop one in and allow it to melt in my mouth. Yummy!

I cannot recommend Laura Secord, though it's supposed to be a national treasure. I find it has an unpleasant sweetish aftertaste.

The best chocolate I've ever had was german. But I'd go with blondie's recommendation, as she is more well-travelled.

After you taste a few of these, you won't ever go back to Hershey's. nevernevernevernever

    One word: LINDT.

My daughter found some Lindt dark chocolate baking bars and made a delicious white w/ buttercream frosting Mothers Day cake. The filling and writing was melted Lindt chocolate. It was fantastic!

My absolute favorite chocolate to eat is the Lindt Lindora Truffle balls. (google) They simple melt in your mouth.

I'm going to order Dewars PeanutButter chews and smother them in the Lindt chocolate and refridgerate them.
