In memory of the people I personally know that died "in this system of things" that were waiting for the end in their lifetime. These people were all a part of the congregations I grew up in.

They were told they would never grow old.

    They did.

They were told they would never die.

    They did that, too.

These people all died of old age, not some terrible disease.

    Feel free to add names......

    1. Peter Panko

    2. Paul and Joan Casper

    3. Frank and Mildred Thompson "Annointed"

    4. Hilda Yehl

    5. Mary Jones

great idea for a thread LDH i cant leave names.. i'm a fader..but...

My great grandmother... born in the late 1800s.. baptized in the 1930s.. died mid 1970s

my grandmother....born 1914 baptized in the 1930's died mid 1980s

these two ladies were founders of a kingdom hall in the southeast united states. they both worked very hard during the depression years preaching the good news. they humbly stepped aside as brothers were baptized and took over the meetings. they raised their children , buried their dead, always with the hope of paradise coming at any time. earthy women who are to be admired for their hard work and diligence during difficult times here in the usa..i've said this before.. one of the things that woke me up to the fact that the wtbs may be wrong is the fact that if they were alive today, and believed as they did then theyd be considered apostate.. the beliefs have changed that much in MY lifetime.

my grandfather.. born 1912 didnt get baptized till the mid 70s during the 75 scare.. he objected to having to stop growing tobacco. but he did it , and lived a lower quality of life and trusted and had faith in the wtbs promises of greeting his wife after her death in the 80s in the ressurection till his death in the early 90s.

the backbone of the finest years of the congregation i grew up in was the dear older sisters. Sister W, Sister W,Sister J, Sister B, Sister B, Sister P, Sister C..... i have great memories of these kind loving ladies.. many of them would hold me as a child and sneak me butterschotch brachs candy and would tell me how wonderful it was that i'd never grow old in this system and how i'd be able to tell ressurected children my experience during this unique period of history. many many times they'd mention the " millions now living WILL never die talk and book..... now i'm an older woman and a grandma.. sad sad.... these dear ladies are now all dead of old age.

for those who may not be aware.....in current watchtower publications they have changed the wording of that momentous talk to " millions now living MAY never die" another deception.

Though the Watchtower spins this as being an accurate prophecy now that there are millions of JWs, in actual fact this was a FAILED PROPHECY in several regards. Why?

Because according to current WTS doctrine only JWs will survive. How many JWs are alive now that were living in 1925? Surely less than 100,000, no where near the 'millions'.

who else said we would not die - positively - CAN YOU SAY SATAN? seriously, though, how do you know that anyone has ever died - i.e., ceased to exist - we don't, rally, know what the hell happens when our time here runs out - i have been hoping to meet God

It would take a million post and most of the ones who heard that speech are dead or dying of old age to pass soon. Sad, isn't it, that many still attend the meetings?

I don't have the book or magazine, but I believe it was one of Rutherfords sayings, just after WW1, when he thought that people like David and Abraham would be back in 1925. It was just another failed wts prophecy, one of the many. As for ones from my old hall who died without seeing the new system:

    Ethel Gunnell

    Maive Fraser

    Kit Newbold

    Harold Emmanuel

    Marie Emmanuel

All lovely people, who lived the dream and died without seeing it come true
