I'm going to try to see it this weekend. But I have to admit, there is one thing about seeing this movie that has been causing me some trepidation. I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle it. Tom Hanks' hair.

Didn't read the book but saw the film. Not impressed. It was a bit of a cakewalk for Hanks. The result was so predictable I was disappointed by the transparency of it all. There were a few nice twists, but on the whole it was not exceptional.

    Boring boring boring!

Hanks was totally miscast. The lines were terribly written. Some of the scenes were just laughably silly. The albino psycho monk was a horrible actor.

All in all, wait for the rental dvd if you dont want to blow 12 bucks. Too bad, because I think with the right cast, improved dialogue, it really could have been a great

movie. If only Ingmar Bergman had directed it instead of "Opie" from Mayberry! LOL

Both me and my husband liked it. We went to see it with my church. Had good time watching a movie. It wasn't too deep, kinda slow at times, but it was a nice excuse to get out of the house.

I read the book and saw the movie. I thought the book had an interesting story, certainly held my attention, but the writing itself wasn't that good. Frankly several times Dan Brown's poor writing got in the way of the story and distracted me.

Anyway, I've seen where the movie is being trashed, and I think that's a little harsh. No it's not going to challenge for any Oscars and it certainly doesn't stand up to a similar religious-based action movie like "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (or even mediocre films like "National Treasure" and "Sahara"), but it's not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

Hanks gives a very average performance, he's kind of stiff many times. Ian MacKellen was the best part of the film. And the film was too long and needed to be tightened up some. They spent way too much time explaining the premise. They would have been better advised to limit the explanations to one scene (ala Harrison Ford in "Raiders" setting up the Ark's "magical" powers).

Overall I didn't dislike the movie. It was okay but could have been much better.

I haven't seen it yet but hope to this weekend. The drive-in is suppoed to get it this summer so maybe I'll wait a bit.
I'm a "the book is always better then the movie" girl so I have lowered expectations.
