Going to meet with an elder

Hellow again everybody, I thought I might share with you some updates of some things going on in my world.
I've had another long discussion with my wife again. She is now convinced I need to speak with the Elders and then see what happens. I've had a number of Elders on my case who want to know why I haven't been very interested and active at the meetings. I'm ready to tell them why. I've allready stopped going out in service and plan never to go back to it ever. Right now I think it's best that I simply have the entire thing start now, because if I wait troubble will start. I've noticed that my mother in law was kind of anxious as to why I skipped it this past weekend without much of a reason. I really don't feel like giving big excuses and running around with everything. This week i'm going to let the elder of my choice know I would like to talk with him and basically tell him I no longer believe it's the truth.
This ain't going to be fun, but it's worth it. I have no idea how things are going to come out when I talk to the Elder. Me and this guy go way back through my entire expierance with this group. This religion has made his life a living hell the past 5 years, but he dosn't realize that it's the religion. He keeps thinking it's the people. The other Elders haven't treated him very well either. Anyway, he is the best one for me to approach.
I'm going to build a packed with all kinds of information and research on the WTS. Anything you guys think is exceptional to add would be greatly appreciated. Tuesday I'm going to let him know I want to talk, so I'll keep everyone up on the details this week.

Drew- what do you think that's going to accomplish? Do you really feel that you need to explain yourself to someone who, in the end, won't give a crap about you? They still have a hold over you. Attempting to explain everything you feel is really nothing more than an attempt, on your part, at getting them to see the light. But, we all know that won't happen. If I were you I'd just make a simple statement and walk out: "I don't believe the Watchtower is god's organization on Earth and I have no interest in putting my life at the mercy of the Watchtower's minions."

meaning the .... using 2 weights of measure, deliberate misquoting, rehearsed love bombing, convenient shunning,
demand non-profit status AND deman copyrights to protect profits. on & on & on

My wife just wants me to talk to an elder. She has expressed acceptance towards whatever happens.

Nothing in the way of this elder. I simply am choosing him because he will be the easiest for me to talk with. The reason I want stuff complied is more for my sake, to present my opinion in the best and most straight forward manner. Also to show that I have more than just small doubt, but have done a considerable amount of thinking about the issues at hand.

you might impress on the elders that you know - the truth about the truth

You might also let them know that Hundreds (thousands?) of Elders have learn the same thing and have left.... I would think that would give you some credibility as to 'what' you have found out... it might even make them curious.

IMHO: Don't get angry, don't get sarcastic, listen to his every word respectfully. Present your case in a mild mannered way and don't be dogmatic with your presentation.

Then when it is all over he may shun you, df you or whatever, but he'll know in his heart that you weren't some rabid mouthed apostate but someone with a sincere good heart yearning for truth.

I am really big on the vaccine and organ transplant stuff. They have blood on their hands from those.
