I attend a group activity every week and there is a young JW's woman that attends there with me and everytime we stand up to salute the flag she refuses to stand or say the pledge of allegence. She told me that if she did the elders would DF'd her for idolatry. I have never heard of JW's getting kicked out for saluting the flag. I always thought it was "frowned" upon but never a DF/DA/REP offense. Is this true posters will JW's elders kick a JW out for saluting the flag?

People are not DF'ed for anything specific. They are DF'ed for "unrepentant wrongdoing." If this person saluted the flag, the elders found out and told them to stop, and they kept doing it, then they would be DF'ed on account of not being repentant.

The only thing I know will happen if you salute the flag. Is that if someone sees you, and you are an elders son, the elder gets mad at the person who saw his son salute the flag, not his son.

That's right they do expel people for saluting the flag and for many other innocent things like celebrating birthdays or Easter.

    What does announced mean?

I asked A JW if it's OK to fly a flag. at first he said no, but then I reasoned with him that the problem wtbs has with flags is saluting aka worshipping them not flying them he didn't know what to say and I never did find out.

This was shortly after the terrorist attacks in the usa after them everyone was flying flags. I also reasoned hypothetically that what if a mob became angry with him because he was unpatriotic for not flying a flag,

and he had to make a choice of what to do, suppose it was a life or death situation. He said he would have to write bethel for the answer.

That was the end of that conversation.

    Bwaaaah Haaaah Haaaah

JW's worship the organization on a daily basis and elders have the audacity to DF anyone who salutes a flag.

Actually, I think if someone were openly saluting the flag and 2 or more JWs saw them doing so, the elders might consider that the person had disassociated themselves, similar to joining the military or some religious group. They might try talking to the person first, but some BOEs feel that is not necessary in the case of disassociation.

As was stated, with DFing, they are supposed to try and get the person to repent and come back. Depends on the JC, some already have their minds made up.

    Greetings moomanchu,

    What does announced mean?

Announced as in D'fd. No meeting no comittee, nothing. I used the term "announced" because I will not concede to sick & perverted Watchtower vernacular or terminology.

Yep. You'd probably get the same deal as anything else under the one-warning system, but then you'd be out.
