The C.O has visited. What gems did he have for the sheeple? He gave a talk that was entitled "Rejoice in the truth!"

Of course "the truth" is whatever the GB say at any given time. Anyway, how does one rejoice in the truth? It's easy! Just STFU and be blessed by not being DF'd.

The C.O drones on about JW history and how the SLAVE enlightens us. Yes, he actually uses the term enlighten/enlightenment when referring to the GB's ideas.

Of course, only righteous ones get it and rejoice. The main way we rejoice is by embracing ( he hugs himself and uses his sexy voice) the many adjustments we are experiencing! LOL!!!

Then he goes on to read some scriptures ( taken out of context, of course) about the 1st century gurus and how they sent decrees via letters. Wow! Nothing has changed that much! The sheeple are on the edge of their seats.

Finally, he reveals "the stick!" The GB issue decrees through letters. These letters are written with direction from the holy spirit. Jehovah is telling them what to send to the congregations. Now a decree is NOT a suggestion. The GB have authority to make decrees, and he repeats, they are not suggestions. They mean our life.

So what decree should we be following right now! Using electronic devices. We should especially be using them to....(drum roll.....) print your own literature from home! Why? Not just to save a lot of money!! Oh, no!! Sure there are savings, but the real point is to send available funds wherever they are needed the most. ( Pedo lawsuits ain't cheap!!)

So get familiar with electronic devices! Print your literature! If you don't have the means, find someone who does! Buy some ink and paper and your fellow JW will gladly print whatever you need. The GB even sent a survey about downloadable materials! Do you think it's a suggestion??!

Jehoober has been providing us so much food, does he have to spoon-feed you as well? Use electronic devices, print your literature as much as possible! This is a decree from the GB, not a suggestion.

    Let's review: It's a CULT!!!!!

    WOW ! ! !

why the need of warwick,? and even the need for bethel? All they need is a retirement home with wi-fi, so they can send links to download.... Soon your gonna hear of the printing presses being sold, to further the worldwide work. Bwa bwa bwa bwa.

We all knew this was coming sooner than later. Putting the costs of operation on the publishers.

Whats next? Bring your own toilet paper to the Kingdom Hall?

Really? Printing literature on crappy home printers with low ink levels and putting a paper clip in the corner? That'll look impressive.

Mind you - as no one reads the distributed literature anyway I guess there is some logic to it from a cost saving point of view.

Hi DD, thanks for the review!

I guess I was ahead of things when I was DF'd and printing my own literature.

Here's an ironic twist: I haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and yet I haven't missed a single one!

Almost identical to what our C.O. visit revealed last week. (we only attended the opening talk!)

Only difference was, he didn't mention the stuff about iPads etc.

However, (this is where our C.O. is better than yours!) he actually said that Armageddon was weeks away!

Do these muppets ever listen to themselves?

just had a CO visit last week.. he was going on and on about how the truth gets "clearer". wtf? so your initial assumption was wrong yet you called it truth... whats truth today is falsehood tomorrow... but reminded us to embrace the changes..

he then went on to list a bunch of recent changes.. but did not touch on the overlapping generation BS. mostly about how we dont have a 2nd weeknight meeting and how you can be a pioneer with 30 hours or something stupid like that.

i am guessing there will be lot more changes coming.. but couldnt guess what.

What a difference a few years make - i remember when the more gadget-aware families began getting pc's and printing out the scriptures for the WT lesson so they didn't have to look them up in the Bible.

There were many whines from the fuddy-duddy non-computer owning righteous (jealous?) dubs who were feeling left behind as they flipped to the scripture in the Bible. The ones with print outs would shoot their hand up instantly, ready to read the scripture!

So then as i recall, the service meeting had talks about the matter several times, that computer owners would never want to seem to be flaunting their riches by having the scriptures printed out and looking like they didn't need the Bible book anymore. The word came down: Use the Bible in the meetings, NOT pre-printed out scriptures.

But apparently Jehovah has changed his mind about that. He wants the stick in the muds to get with the modern times and learn to be desk publishers. Turns out those scripture-printing rebels were right! Who woulda thunk it!

Oubliette - "I haven't been to a meeting in over a year, and yet I haven't missed a single one!"

    Yup.

It's a bizarre phenomenon when XJWs are better informed about what we can expect from the WTS than JWs themselves.

Vidiot, that's not what I meant, but it is certainly true. By checking in here on JWN I am more up-to-date than the local elders, everytime!
