I was one of those.
I would go the the hall all dressed up like a good JW, listening to JW music in my car and would try to make a good comment at the hall, and when the meeting was over, I would get out of the hall as fast as possible, go home, almost rip off my shirt and suit and put my jeans and T shirt on and listen to rock music and watch some extreme sport on TV....and become worldly again as fast as possible.

Knew a presiding elder once who cracked up when he got counseled for something, and he threatened to sneak up an night and burn down the kingdom hall.
Just like the Clint Eastwood character riding out of town in "the unforgiven".
He was taken seriously.
I remember just last year, going to the book study, commenting, even say the prayer at the end, and 5 minutes later I was posting on JWD and drinking.
After the meetings, sometimes I would say I was going to bed, and go to my room, grab a cig, clime out the window and smoke. Then i would wait for my wordly friends to pull up, jump down to the porch, and take off lol!
There must be a whole lotta double-life JW's considering how much the oppressive cult sucks so bad.It's one thing to 'fake it till you make it' and put up with the oppression until you can get out,like most posters above.
What's scary is how much the WT 'society' enables the 'angel on the street/devil at home sinister serial psychopaths.
I have alot to say about the JW psychopaths because the fuckers were everywhere: Sincere imperfect wrongdoer vs the pathological predatory psychopath Satan is a psychopath and like his human counterparts they are not amendable to treatment it's something pathological with them it's the way they are wired they cannot change. I have had lots of exposure to the predatory psychopaths (no conscience,amoral,don't learn from their mistakes) my JW elder dad and my maternal JW grandmother were both psychopaths. Don't confuse psychotic (a organic mental illness) with a psychopath (an adverse moral judgment) they are apples and oranges. Why are there so many psychopaths among Jehovah's Witnesses?I watched my loving grandmother turn into a lying conniving JW monster and i believe it was the constant enabling of the double life of cognitive dissonance that turned her. I have often thought that the final judgment by God will be simple good vs evil is just another description of sincere vs psychopath God knows because he can read minds and the conviction of our hearts.-Danny Haszard
I was never baptised , so I don't know if I count. After meetings I would go home and read books on hauntings ( I was always interested in the afterlife). I was pressured by my teacher after 2 years of studying to quit smoking, so I lied and said I did, and hid it for the last year of studying...lol. I also let my daughter participate in school holiday and birthday parties.
but I went to a meeting and he orchestrated that whoever was going to read that week would be substituted by my ex who also said the prayer

hey JH....yup, sure did know one. He's WAS an elder at one time....had to "step down"....now he's trying his damndest to be made an elder again, but he hasn't changed his lying, cheating, immoral ways. Some people just never learn.
