What blood fractions are j.w.'s allowed to have?

I have a situation with a j.w. relative that is coming up that could involve a question involving blood issues, at a later date. So, I am trying to get the material I need to plant "seeds".

Of course, we know that their are no scriptures that tell us j.w.'s can use blood fractions, and which ones the j.w.'s can use.

So, how would they go about showing "scriptually" that it is okay to use certain blood fractions?

Does the Watchtower have any written directives saying that j.w.'s can use blood fractions, and which ones they can and cannot use?

    Perhaps something recent even?

    Thanks

    Hubert

They cannot have whole blood (non issue anyway), or major fractions: red cells, white cells, plasma, or platelets. Everything and anything else is personal conscience.

There are two major holes in their current stance.

If they can accept blood fractions, can they donate blood? No! So where does the blood fractions come from that JWs are using?

What is the principle on why blood can not be used? That blood must be poured out on the ground out of respect for life. Where then are the acceptable blood fractions coming from? From blood that has not been treated acceptably according to Watchtower policy.

All their blood and all their doctrines come from worldly people.

There is some info about the old ruling on blood fractions in this thread:

    Loosie,

From what I understand whole blood is not transfused anymore as it is a waste of components. Why transfuse whole blood if the patient only needs RBCs or say plasma.

If JW's aren't allowed to give blood, then they shouldn't be allowed to have blood test either. In both cases blood is removed. Try explaining that to Paul.

The site that Gary referenced is a good one to put in your favorites. It is a wealth of information on the blood issue and they keep it fairly current. There are also people who can be contacted on that board that can help you will any questions the site does not answer.
