For Darcy, what do you think is necessary for salvation?

Do you think you were crucified with Christ? Do you feel that Christ lives in you personally?

I'm impressed, you're probably a better Watchtower scholar than myself.

I do not think I was crucified with Christ. He was crucified so that poor jocks like me get a chance. At what? well, that's highly disputed here, and since I'm an active witness, then you ought to know the reward I'm looking forward to. I really don't know what would be required to feel as though you were crucified with Christ. It'd be symbolic if I did feel that way, obviously, since that actually happened thousands of years ago. But even symbolically, I fail to comprehend how such a thing could take place. What was Paul talking about in that case? I don't know. Good question.

Eh, secondly I also never really got this having christ in you, or the kingdom of god in you. You try to imitate Christ's works, but he doesn't live in you. Maybe you manifest his qualities, his spirit, by imitating the love he showed for others, but that's the only way I can think to interpret that. If that is the case, then I suppose you could say he lives in me and others, although that's really awkward phrasing to me.

    Have I answered? Other questions?

    Good, well thought out responses.

From research, it appears this refers to opposing god's will, god's active force, god's activities.

How can you tell what those are? Do you find out from a 2000 yr old book, from the wt publications, prayer... how? I ask, because i sometimes do meditation. Depending on what one focuses during a session, one can get information. When i did them on people, or even trees, i got something. On god, the bible christian god, i got nothing from him. It seems to me, that if he had/has a will, i would certainly have detected it, or gotten some inkling from him directly.

Hah, maybe you scare him and he's hiding!

Just kidding really. Honestly, that's something that I couldn't be decisive on. This may seem like evading the question, but it's so highly disputed, that I'd rather say nothing than say something I can't really defend, haven't thought about, and couldn't really elaborate upon.

darcy, were you raised a jw? I ask because you use the term "crucified" which is no longer part of the WT vocabulary since they teach Christ was not put on a cross but a stake. That is one of those radar words for a JW that the person might not be a JW.

Darcy, I am impressed with your answer. However, to avoid being disfellowshipped a JW you must speak in a united voice with God's organisation, and the answer to the question is plained stated in the Watchtower.

7 Only Jehovah’s Witnesses , those of the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil.” Watchtower 1989 September 1 p.19

    even the bad witnesses?

hah. here's a fave: "New Light" has shown that scriptures previously thought to describe the world are intended for the congregations. A.k.a: they're just as messed up. I think they were talking about 2 Pe. 3.9 with that bit; I vaguely remember that from a DC years ago as a child.

As a child... blondie... b/c I was raised a JW. Both parents are in, and yes I got threatened God knows how many times with that blasted Eph. 6, if you want to live a long time you'll obey!

The cruxifiction bit was just repeating the words my questioner used. No point word mincing that. Besides, the cross/stake issue wasn't the one at hand.

Be careful, darcy, you'll pick up bad language and forget and use it at the KH. They'll wonder where you have been hanging out.

You must have an idea of what the will of god is, having trodden the religious path up to this point. Perhaps you could think back to how you arrived at it. If opposing gods will is the worst thing that a person could do on the face of this earth, then it would seem to me to be important to determine what it is. Or, perhaps you are in a doldrum calm state, where you are reexamining everything. That is cool, too. This discussion board is a good place to do that.
