Can you imagine after 30 years of service being asked to leave!

I'd be terrified unless I had well-to-do family or family who owned a business that I could either rely on to help me out or get me a job. Very scary for these people I'd think.

I think the idea of them laying off workers due to "cost-cutting" isn't true. As it is, they get paid pennies a day. Food is another pennies a day expense. Rooming has been paid for since the buildings were first built. Electricity and water are not that large of an expense either. But in my business book, if a few hundred workers are only there because they have been there for many years, so what? Get rid of them if they serve no function to help in bringing in money.

I was wondering about the Real Estate angle. If you kick out that many people you can free up a building or two that can be sold for huge profits. I heard Real estate in NYC is quite pricey. They could even renovate a building or two with "free labour"before they put it on the market. Do I hear windfall profit anyone?

This is my take on the entire Bethelites being asked to leave:

The WTS is hurting for cash flow-not assets. Also, they have many pending lawsuits up their asses..................they need to free up whatever assets they have to turn into cash flow to handle these problems.

Also, do not be fooled..........the WTS are and have been for the last decade making plans to protect their assets and possibly move their monies/assets out of the US into off-shore entities- financial captives.

They made a very strange move some time ago by appling for a business ID number here in Florida. Figure out the geography......... I believe there was a thread on this.

Watch in the future.............if they move their assets/monies off-shore- no US lawsuits can touch them.

I could be wrong, but I do not think I am.

    Any thoughts?

I really do honestly believe them when they say they are sending out experienced Bethelites to bolster the congregations. Has anybody see the congregations lately? They are seriously flagging... it makes sense that the Society would want to send out "strong" brothers and sisters to prop everyone up.

This makes no sense. Don't the Bethelites all go out to local Kingdumb Halls anyway for all the meetings and Service? And if they're concerned about "proping everyone up", can't these Bethelites do that and still remain at Bethel?

No, this move has absolutely nothing to do with the GB's concern over the spiritual welfare of the flock----it's being done purely out of financial motivations, which disgusts me to no end.......just when you think these old pricks can't sink any lower, they manage to surprise.
