It is very hot in this area. I can understand why the brother wouldn't want to be dressed up. Between the heat and the long drive, why bother?

Wednesday - Most of the talk was about how the brother didn't seem to be very nice. In this area they expect everyone to respond a certain way to their southern hospitality (love bombing), and if they don't people's feelings are hurt. A few of the publishers expected this Bethelite brother to be all hugs, smiles, and experiences from Bethel. A couple of elders were complaining about not being able to ask the brother to say an opening/closing prayer because he wasn't dressed appropriately. I was thinking, "These guys really need to get a life!"

It might be hot as Hades, but all the other "spiritual brothers" showed up in a tie, right? If he really wanted to show up in regulation meeting uniform, he could've left one out of the suitcase.

I don't get why Crooklyn sent them to California. That's one of the toughest places to get started financially, and they won't have a pot to piss in! Also, the need isn't great, why not North Dakota, or something?

thinking maybe if they are going to Calif. they maybe have family or friends. You are right, it does not seem to be a high need area. bet those bethel peeps don't want to spend time with just any bunch of hicks, Some from this area sort of see Calif as the promised land. The sisters are better looking, per one elder I have known for many years (he ever so wanted to get his hands on one of those hot calif sisters). We are just dumb hicks compared to them . Some sort of looked upon calif as the second bethel, all the movers and shakers are in either nyc or calif. Now this is urban legand here in my area.

is any of this true? When we would get the questions from readers I can recall people here asking, "who would do such a thng" (usally a sex question) and the elders privately saying "well, they have a lot of trouble in calif, , lots worldy people coming into the truth , they are very liberal there, the jws are hard to tell from the worldy people, etc, -- ~~takes a while to beat them inot submission,~~ takes a while to learn to be part of Jehovah's org.

Isn't it 3000 miles from NY to California? Society was very generous for giving them 3 days of car rental. Cheap b*******!

And about the brother's clothes, who knows the reason. Why do people get their undies in a bunch over such trivia? I got so tired of that behavior and nit picking.

For the most part all these couples are being allowed to express where they want to go. So I heard. This also makes me believe that bolestering the congreagation is not the real intent, I think it is just to get rid of unwanted human flesh.

I was in blue jeans and a polo when asked to say the opening prayer at church once. No one said a word about my attire. No one came up later and gave me a false "attaboy" like I was accustomed to at the Kingdom Hall.

Freedom is so sweet.
