Social Hypocrisy vs. Doctrinal Hypocrisy

I think you'll find the social kind in every church, club, or organization on earth. You know...it's the kind where people try to project themselves to be something that they really don't live up to when nobody is looking. Kinda like Sunday angels and Monday devils.

But the doctrinal hypocrisy within the WTS is confounding, and I think is going to be judged MUCH more seriously by God when the time comes. For example, Witnesses are told to expose false teachings in their ministry. Challenge "householders" to question their clergy, re-examine their beliefs, and upon putting their religion to the test, if there is any hint of false teaching found or any trace of an unscriptural practice within their religion, they are to quicly dismiss that it must be false religion, and part of Satan's wicked system.

What if Jehovah's Witnesses were to hold themselves to the same process? Well first of all, they are forbidden to do so. Secondly, the unscriptural teachings that you would find just from looking at the last 80 year history of the organization would be all the proof that one needs. But then we have the WTS quickly dismissing these things as "refinements" and the recieving of "new light" on the subject. Is that supposed to make it ok to teach unscriptural things? How come other religious groups can't claim it?

Yes, it's true, like the Proverb says, "the path of the righteous ones is like the bright light that is getting lighter and lighter until the day is firmly established". But does that scripture alone clear the WTS for decades of unscriptural teachings? The Apostle Peter said "we have the prophetic word made more sure". God's Holy Spirit gives us that surety, not a century of misguided teachings.

Don't flatter yourself. You've inspired nothing resembling hate in me, anyways.

In any case, yes... good point. The "question your beliefs" thing they encourage so much lasts exactly as long as it takes for you to get baptized, and only applies to your OLD beliefs. Your new beliefs are off-limits.

It's much like these little third-world dictators or Sharia regimes that have supposed "democratic" systems. In other words every man gets one vote, once. After the dictator or group of clerics is voted in, that's the end of voting. Cover your face filthy temptress.

As if it would be flattery. Get over yourself.

Do you have any point in posting here other than self-aggrandization? I was trying to reply to your post, something generally considered to be a compliment, with a little blurb thrown in about how I don't hate you.
Last time I make that mistake.

I don't hate you either Theocrat...even though you couldn't talk to me when we went to the same KH and I was DF'd. I'm over it 'cause you're out. I want to have a North Florida Big Bend Apostafest soon, wanna come?

No Renee, I luv ya but wouldn't be interested in joining any protests or anything. In that respect, apostates can be as lame as the WTS in my opinion.

An Apostafest isn't a protest or a rally. It's a "gathering" for old friends who used to share the same religion. Just thinking of having a party.

Is it social hypocrasy to prejudge Fests as protests instead of actually finding out about them?

They are parties, nothing more or less, and to be honest most never bring up the subject of the JWs, far less gripe about it.

How does that bear on what you wrote about checking things out thoroughly, rather than holding a misguided opinion?
