Heard on the news that many victims have been arriving at New York City hospitals. Burn specialists and plastic surgeons are being called in. No estimate as to the number of deaths at this point.

Boston is virtually shut down. The Financial District is closed, the Prudential and John Hancock towers have been evacuated, all schools are closed.

I'm sure that whatever group is behind this attack will find very few nations that will support them.

I hope the JWs aren't too disappointed to find the nations pulling together to get past this tragedy rather than concentrating on attacking them so that they can get their tickets into Paradise.

This is all so OVERWHELMINGLY SAD. My children have friends who work there. My son is attending New York Institute of Technology, and his dorm is right there. He just told us he is ok and he and his roommate are in the Dorm watching the news. We were not able to get in touch with him because cell phones have been down and all circuits have been busy. He wants to get out of the city and come home tonight but I don't know if it will be easy. I am not sure NYIT will be open for classes tomorrow. His friend just took a job at the WTC. I am also worried about someone else I know who works there. I can't imagine any religion being joyful over events like this and saying "god is good" I wish I could go over there and voluteer to help somehow. It is something that we never thought about as Jehovah's Witnesses. But now the thought of the people that were in that building when it fell and the pictures on the news are heartwrenching, and at times like this we are all brothers and sisters wanting to be there to help one another.

Just tried to call New York and the message is "due to a tornado in the area" the phones are out of service. Unbelievable

I guess that "tornado" was the only thing they could come up with on short notice.

Latest I just heard is that Amtrak has suspended rail service nationwide.

When we look at these horrible pictures 1 1/2 years later, why do they want to build other tall buildings just as high or even higher. Is this wise?

When the memorial was onT.V this morning, I was at the gym . The gym t.v. was going, and when they had the moment of silence. I stood too, and paused to remember that horrible day. Paused and stood in respect for the for those who died and respect for their families. Paused to remember the firefighters, police officers, emergency crews that lost their lives that day. Truly a time to remember. It is a part of my psyche.. and will always know exactly where and what I was doing on the fateful morning of Sept 11, 2001.
