God does not need anything. He is sufficient in himself.
So do children of God need organization? Well... question is what you mean by "organization"? To be organised - yes. To have kind a Brooklin WT - no. God himself organizes his children through Holy Spirit and by his Word. And I guess it is in nature of whole living that people with common background, interests and motives gather in one place (spiritually).
So all Vietnam veterans ARE Vietnam veterans and this "Vietnam veterans" is this "organisation". You may be live in jungle, but if you are of this group, you are in the organization.
Remember where disciples of Jesus told that they rebuked one who preaches in His name. And they forbid it to him coz he was not with them. But Jesus knew that he IS, but not in visible way but in Spirit. To be in God's organization is to be in Christ.
There's nothing wrong about being organized in itself. Problem is, men step in as leaders.
Of course, they're just Christ's vicars on earths, ministers to their brothers, shepherds to the sheep. It doesn't take long though, before those well-intentioned men start going against Christ's words: "But you , do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your teacher, whereas all you are brothers. Moreover, do not call anyone your father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for your Leader is one, the Christ."
Just the expression "governing body" is enough to summarize the problem with the WT organization. They don't just govern an organization, they govern minds and hearts as well, forbidding freedom of though and expression, and directing individual consciences.
The long list of WTS scandals, failures and cover-ups is the best testimony to the dangers of such-like organization. Fred Franz himself made some interesting remarks on first-century christianity, which you may find in Ray Franz' book "Crisis of Conscience".
Watchtower 1983 February 15 p.12 “To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it.”
If belonging to an organisation is essential for salvation and for a relationship with God here are some questions to consider;
Here is an article http://jwfacts.com/index_files/slave.htm
The bible says salvation is through Jesus. The word organisation never even appears in the bible.
John 10:9 - “I am the door; whoever enters through me will be saved, and he will go in and out and find pasturage.”
Acts 4:12 – “Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.”

Thanks everyone just what I needed.
If you still claim to be christian then this scripture says it all:
(John 6:66-69) 66
Owing to this many of his disciples went off to the things behind and would no longer walk with him. 67 Therefore Jesus said to the twelve: "YOU do not want to go also, do YOU?" 68 Simon Peter answered him: "Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life; 69 and we have believed and come to know that you are the Holy One of God."
The WT misapplies this scripture to mean the WTB&TS , in context though it does not, nor ever will mean that. Peter was speaking to Jesus period!
God needs an organization for the same reason that Kukla and Ollie need Fran.
LOL - Nathan
(humming) This is the organization that does not end. Yes it goes on and on my friend..........

On the other hand, you may wish to heed the Society's advice on this one:
*** Watchtower 1959 5/1 p. 269 Attain Completeness in the New World Society ***
In the same way Christ, the Head, employs the organization that is his body to carry out his assigned work. His orders reach the whole of the organization on earth through the governing body, and on down through the Branches to the congregations.—1 Cor. 12:12-18; Matt. 24:45-47. To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing. Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him.
