This could be the emergence of exactly what I've hoped for - namely, that as they shed brothers with good sense and good hearts,
they get even dumber and more isolated in their thinking. They probably don't even "get it" as to what's wrong with Herd's talks.
All we need now is one really good stupid mistake. Something the Legal Dept forgot to check, something that didn't get proofread,....

“So finally after we’d selected that number one scripture, this old brother raised his hand and he said ‘Excuse me, brother, if you’ll just look at the context of this verse you’ll see that there’s no way you can apply this the way you’re applying it.’
“And we looked at it and he was absolutely right.
“You know what we learned from that? That Jehovah took an old sleeping brother and woke the rest of us up.
[uproarious laughter and applause] “Don’t doubt the organization because Jehovah’s in control and Jesus is head of the Christian congregation. We need to keep spiritual matters in sharp focus, in the center of our field of vision.”
This little gem is proof that the "apostate" movement is winning. So much so that the GB can no longer ignore it, but is now forced to actually address its concerns.
Not only that, but the picture he paints of a GB meeting is totally familiar to anyone who's read COC, thus confirming the accuracy of Ray Franz's expose.
So he's acknowledging that out there in Dubdom land there are whispers that "the Emperor's got no clothes". But instead of addressing the real issue, that the society needs to reform drastically in many areas in order to survive the coming years and decades (IOW "clothe the Emperor"), he states the old "The Emperor is wearing the finest clothing ever, provided by Jah Himself - disbelieve your own eyes, they're lying" line.
This segment of his talk shows that the GB is fully aware of the discussion topics on this and other boards. And that they're worried that these topics are beginning to be discussed amongst those still in.

IC, that's the thing about these boards, that "apostates" can freely express the doubts that many loyal Dubs are privately entertaining. And in the privacy of their own home/office, those loyal ones can see that their doubts and fears are more than a little justified.
And now the GB itself is aware of the problem - Herd's "‘what are those brothers talking about up there in Brooklyn?" comments could be straight from any number of ex-Dub boards. Now that the cracks and flaws of the Org are becoming clearly visible, there are two approaches the GB can take. Either 1. repair those cracks and flaws by reforming the org, or 2. deny their existence and whip the slaves and tell them to get back to work. Guess which one the GB seem to be choosing!
