  Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah's universal organization.

  To survive the end of the present wicked system of things, we must do more than believe that it will be destroyed. We must exercise faith, taking full advantage of God's provisions for survival. Of course, we need to exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of God's Son, Jesus Christ. (John 3:16, 36) However, we do well to remember that only those actually inside Noah's ark survived the Flood.

  I notice that they had to slip in a very short blurb about the need to exercise faith in the ransom of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. But is this the only mention of Jesus in the entire article? I’m not surprised since the Organization has taken on Messianic proportions! They've taken over the job of God's son. Contrast this with this well known verse in the Bible:

  (John 14:6) 6 Jesus said to him: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

  Thanks Blondie for your efforts here, but this week's lesson was really pushing my buttons!

  Cyberguy - I was about to post almost exactly the same thoughts. You saved me the trouble. I also noticed that there was only one brief reference to God's Son, Jesus Christ--they had to in case they are criticized for not telling us to put our faith in Jesus. The rest of the article focuses on sticking close to Jehovah's Organization. By the end of the article everyone KNOWS that God's provision for salvation is really the ORGANIZATION. They never use the term "Faithful and Discreet Slave" in this article, though. Just a reference to Matthew 24:45 and the comment that "Jehovah continues to provide us with an abundant supply of timely and healthful spiritual food that keeps us spiritually strong."

  It is too bad that some many JWs let the organization determine who will live and who will die instead of trusting that a loving God would not do such things.

  feel so sorry for my wife having to go this meeting. And hear this crap. And cry because she believes I'm going to die soon, and her mother and father and sister and brother are all going to die, and her favorite aunt...well, pretty much her entire fleshly family, since none are JWs.

  I saw so many JWs (in name anyway) who came to the meetings who did things that were deliberate and unchristian. I could not reconcile that they would survive Armageddon and my great aunt Matilda who spent all her time looking after the housebound in her church and neighborhood. She put in more time, money, and practical help than any JW wasting time on a NH RV. I was one JW that never bought into everyone who wasn’t a JW would die (probably the basis of why I’m out now).

  Of course, that is my interpretation of their words…but it is true. I was at a door once with a brother whose introduction was that "We are here to find the lost sheep to bring them back to the flock." Of course, the lady was incensed, here she mistakenly though she already was a sheep and that the flock was at her church. The brother continued, "Only those worshipping God in spirit and truth will survive the coming destruction of the wicked." Lady: "Are you saying I’m wicked?!" She shooed us on the porch and I vowed never to even go in the same group with that man…an oldtimer…I wonder how many porches he had been kicked off? Most JWs are much smoother about this.

  Hey, Sacchiel, don’t underestimate my comments. You can actually use some of them if you do it with skill. BTW, this is not a chatroom. Chatrooms have a more instantaneous response time and are not as permanent.

  You’re right. They have been doing that especially since 1919 when they feel Jesus returned (again for the 2 nd time) to designate them the only true religion; of course, they were using the cross, celebrating birthdays and Christmas, calculating chronology with the pyramid, etc., all pagan things.

  you know one of those fancy type get to gethers that involve hiring a hall for dancing etc. The only ones that wernt invited were the ones viewed as weak

  Actually, in this area, hiring a hall for dancing is forbidden…but then elders can get away with more.

(Galatians 5:7-9) In one congregation, well-meaning adults who wanted to help some youths who had become spiritually weak invited them to gatherings to play popular music together. Though the youths readily complied and enjoyed such sessions, their influence on one another eventually led them to cut their ties with the congregation.

  Good catch, cyberguy…I try to insert "Where’s Jesus?" in appropriate spots in the reviews. Yes, the WTS has placed itself between humans and Jesus, declaring the are the only channel through which we can understand the Bible, thus understand the ransom.

  I have been reading the older publications and they differentiate Christ Jesus from The Christ, made up of Jesus and the 144,000. In many places the WTS refers to the 144,000 as The Christ. What picture does that conjure up, eh?

  thanks again, blondie. it is amazing that when they mention the ransom sacrifice of Jesus Christ it is usually just an aside. i did not remember that the l44,000 was referred to as "The Christ". amazing. what twisting they do.
