i'm irked..

i had just got my two grown kids to start associating with me again.. well they let me take them shopping..

anyway.. i had arranged a lunch with them and all was ok... then they had their district convention the weekend before the lunch was scheduled and they got back all fired up to shun me again..lunch canceled. evidently there is a lot of warnings about associating with your MOTHER at the DC.

i'm THIS close to writing a DA letter.. i mean ..why not if i'm gonna be shunned like an evildoer anyway?

the distorted view of love that the society promotes is sickening and really should be exposed as the evil that it is.

My mother does me that way. She'll be all nice and then WHAM.. nothing for a few weeks/month. I guess every now and again they do their brainwashing techniques! lol. She calls me at work now and again. I am considering taking a job at my church (1st Baptist).. I wonder if she'll call if I give her a new number and they answer "1st Baptist. How can I help you?"

CandyN - I'm really sorry and can imagine just how frustrating that would be. Let's just go to NY and burn the sons a bitches out! Seriously for them to have more control over the minds (not hearts) of your children that they shun you is disgraceful.

Let's hope this wears off and they come back to you.

lol confused.. i dont want to do violence on the WTBS..just take their money and power away!

if you burn them out they probably not only have everything insured 5 times its value but also would accept "donations" to rebuild !

renee, i can always tell when there is a "push" for only acceptable association. usually though with my grown kids it lasts 6 - 8 months before it wears off.

Aaaargh that's crazy. And I never get why they cut off people who aren't actually DAd or DFd. Who are they to judge?

If you are not already d/a or d/f, then why in the world should they shun you?? I am an open disbeliever among my family . They, apart from my wife tend to keep off the subject in my company. Nobody has wanted to report what I said . We have a normal, if not close, relationship. I could visit anytime.

The instruction from the 'Tower is to shun the d/f - thats all .

Hi Candidly, I am so sorry that your kids are shunning you again, especially after they started associating with you. I, like Blusbrother, am also mystifies as to why, if you're not da'd or df'd, they would do that. I know a few faders, and the jws speak to them when they see them, they have no reason not to. It's only those that are out altogether that get the shunning.

I hope the kids soon come round again.

they shun me because i'm inactive. i do not attend the kingdom hall anymore. i havent stepped in one in 5 years or so.

my oldest is a pioneer and her father in law is a PO of an affluent congregation. she has told me since i'm inactive, i'm considered bad association and a threat to her spirituality , and under the advice of counsel from the elders ( i assume her FIL) it is best if she "limits" her contact with me to necessary things. ( i got a letter about 2 yrs ago full of watchtower speak)

written watchtower rules is to shun df'd and da'd people... over the past 3 years, unwritten but spoken rules seem to be to shun anyone that isnt active.
