Twenty minutes ago, there were two large explosions in Dayton, Ohio. They were strong enough to vibrate my house. The local news reported that a plane struck the Veterans Administration Building about 5 miles from my house. My one daughter just called me. They could hear the explosion at her house 20 miles away. I will keep you posted when I know more.

    Larc,

And here I thought there was nothing worth damaging in the Midwest and we were relatively safe.

Please do keep us posted. I'm glad to hear you're safe.

    Sorry,

It was a false alarm. Their were two sonic booms from jet fighters clearing the air space ahead of the President's plane from Nebraska back to Washington. The booms were coincidental with a large grass fire in West Dayton, which led to the speculation.

    Ginny,

Wright Patterson Airforce base here in Dayton is the logistics command center for the Air Force. It is also, it is the center for jet propulsion and radar research, and therefore it is a very likely target.

The Presential fly-over is because the air route is made so that it will keep Air Force One in close proximity to military bases along the way.

I live about 50 miles East of Dayton and no word about any explosions here yet. Dayton is also the site of a large air force base.
