so you have one of two things to consider.

1. he was clever enough to have fooled the Holy Spirit

2. the elders of the watchtower bible and tract society simply are not appointed by the Holy Spirit.

How about: "He stole the card, and we never knew him".

You know what would REALLY be bad?

If, during the investigation, the authorities found out he was not the only one.
