The Land of Oz in shock too! (page 3)

I spent yesterday watching the History Channel. All day long they covered the entire event. I wanted to rewatch and examine the men and women during the tragedy and aftermath. I was looking for paper masks, oxygen masks, etc. I saw that many, many rescue workers, firemen, everyday people, had on nothing at all. Many had on paper masks, and some had oxygen masks that were hanging around their necks.

It's truly a shame what's happening to these heroes who risked their lives to help people they didn't even know. Now, they are having to beg and fight for help.

I saw this thread, and wanted to go back and read the replies b/c i wasn't on the board at the time.
We should all look at the pics again and hear it again. We do not ever want to let this horrible thing leave our memory. We should not forget. We should remember what a price we paid.We should not go soft on terrorists and forget what they have done to our county.
I felt like vomiting when i read what some of the other jws wee saying. JWS judgment indeed.

Does anyone truly believe that, three years later, we have made our world a safer place by the actions we have taken to-date? that we have conquered to ANY degree the contributing factors that led us to such a heightened pitch of fanaticism? Yes we may have eliminated some of the perpetrators, punished some of the involved, wreaked some forms of vengeance ..... but have the root causes been addressed? will our children or our children's children be any safer or live in a more harmonious world as a result of learnings from this tragedy?

I will never forget who the enemy is.
Pity Bush did ... three years after Sep 11 and instead of persuing the perpetrators he instead started searching for Oil and some easier targets.
Maybe they will pull Bin Laden out in time for the election though.

Religion is such a horrible deception.
Live life, love others. Enough of a moral code for me.

Also went back and read some of the songs we posted that week....Almost forgotten about the thread of music. Although reading my posts now about wearing red, white and blue saddens me. I'm so disillusioned now and totally hate politics.
