'but we know that Satan is behind these attacks on faithful brothers. He is the one really making up the lies.'
Sadly rings a bell, OR the 'they weren't real brothers'

Since the story had a Chicago connection, it was in the news there, too. And interestingly enough, it was posted on a pro-Jehovah's Witness board. At first, some questioned whether he was a Jehovah's Witness. But, that was quickly dispelled by the mention of his Bethel i.d. The latest is that we're living in the last days and this is all Satan's doing. I'm reminded of Flip Wilson: "The devil made him do it."

Cano's sister said this:
His sister did not want to speak on camera. She told CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot the situation is "all a misunderstanding and it's gonna be cleared up."

While the WTS spokesperson Brown said:
Cano was living in Wallkill, N.Y. -- about 20 miles from Middleton -- and working at the Jehovah's Witnesses printing plant there, said J.W. Brown, a national spokesman for Jehovah's Witnesses. But Cano was severed from the organization on Monday, Brown said.
"As of today he has been removed from his eldership and has been removed as a member of this family,'' Brown said Monday.
Cano has been in the Wallkill area 16 years, Brown said. He was a minister with the church, but also an "elder,'' a status that is attained after many years of study. He was serving a congregation in Newburg, N.Y.
This does not say he was DF'd....merely asked to leave Bethel and removed as a congregation elder.
The JW comments I see online are positive that Cano never was a JW and this is all lies. I guess reading a newspaper would be too dangerous.

Unfortunately, I believe that this high-profile case where WT dismissed him immediately from their ranks, will be seen as "proof" by the rank and file that "Jehovah protects his clean organization." If it could be proven that there were complaints against him that were kept confidential, or that someone was aware of his mountain of kiddie porn, maybe it would have a different effect. But his dismissal and likely subsequent disfellowshipping will be spun as a positive for the WT. "See how well we handle this sort of thing? The Catholics would be just moving him to another parish. WE kicked him out." sickening.
But they are masters of spin. -

How exactly was he 'removed as a member of his family?"
Does the WTBTS have the power to remove genetic material now?

I shared it, against my mom's will, so, am I a monster? I feel I should allow her her beliefs.........she's terminally ill...............but, being a witness, even though considered very spiritually weak by the mainstream.........she is the ideal to which I strive...........intensely spiritual, open minded, extremely psychic.........knowing the weaknesses of the organization, she still clings to Jehovah and the brothers.
