I'm putting this a s a seperate topic because it is taking up too much space in anthoer topic.

    INQ quoted this experience:

One young 2-year old in Oklahoma, insisted that his name was Jimmy but each time he would be told ‘No, it is Jeremy’. Jeremy saw a picture of a wagon in a book and told his grandmother, ‘The wagon hit me. I was dead and I was angry with the man who drove the wagon.’ Another time he asked his father, ‘What’s wrong with your back? Is it killing you? My back got hurt one time and it killed me.

and said this child dialogue was way beyound his yrs and therefore unbelievable. what your opinion?

Reincarnation and past lives are totally unprovable.
I can think of a multitude of other, simpler explanations for that child's behavior that don't require belief in woo. My kids both talked that well when they were 2 and occasionally got confused about their names.
I'm shaking of the bonds of one superstitious, unproveable belief system. I'd prefer not to jump right back into a different one just a few months later.

Here is the link for the actual story;http://home.comcast.net/~psi-symposium/journals/reincarnation2004.html

I myself don't find the 2 yr old grammer that unbelivable or that far above average. another point to remember that the 2 yo maybe very close to 3 but but still 2. in any event the grammer is not that complicated for an advanced 2.

My grandson is a bright 2 year old. He is just beginning to talk but he doesn't use sentences - just single words.

Although he can only say words children that age do understand far more then they can say.

A few years ago I sat in on a college linguistic class. Th eprof was quite fascinated that children of deaf parents who use sign language are so much further ahead than children of hearing parents.

The ability to uise the facial muscles and tongue is a complicated process to learn. The use of the hands however is a skill used much younger. But even if that 2-yr-old child in your example used sign language he would not be able to communicate in such an advanced speech pattern

No opinion on past lives but from firsthand experience 2-year-olds can speak as intelligently as adults:

After a little "mishap" on a freeway exit (mommy's first time driving a stick shift!) the two-year-three-month old in the back seat said "Oh no! Mommy fractured the car and I won't be able to go to nursery school on Monday!"

He did make it to school...

Lady Lee, I claim that my children both spoke at least that well at 2. In fact, they were both speaking in complete sentences at 18 months. My son's first purposeful speech was at 9 months.
I do not believe this constitutes proof of reincarnation, but there is no denying that some 2 year olds speak in a very sophisticated manner.
Also, early verbal development and acuity is not necessarily a predictor of high intelligence, as evidenced by Einstein and others who had a verbal language delay but were highly intelligent. One should not guage a child's intelligence by their speech development.
