Where I live there have been calls for massive prayer meetings for all the victims of the terrorist attack. My question would be, if god is so great and loving why didn't he stop the damn planes to begin with?????

If the supposed great all powerful being had the power to stop something such as this and just let it all happen, the what fool would think he is going to give a rat's ass about the victims after the fact.

If there is a power who takes action in behalf of the victims, I hope they stomp a mud hole in the ass of those who caused this to happen and when they are finished do a little stomping on god for doing nothing. For all you twits out there who are praying, if you want to do something get in your car, go to your local blood bank and donate, if you are really ambitious drive to NY and lend a helping hand.

Save your prayers for when god gives evidence he gives a shit.

What a sad, sad state it must be for a person like you to have faith in nothing. I'll pray for you too.

I tend to agree with what your saying, although I'd probably say it alittle more tactfully than you.
It is hard to believe in a God that is supposed to have limitless power, one that is supposed to love and care for us, that would just sit back and watch this happen. If there is a god,he has sat back and done nothing about countless tragedies in human history.
I can't feel warm and fuzzy about a god like that.

You got it, TR. Prayers all around. They're on the house.

Just think, sunstarr, if you'd only known to pray that no planes hit buildings today, we might have been spared this disaster.

I wish God cared enough to save those people too. To think of those people aboard those airplaines and in the towers knowing they were about to die, just makes me sick. Hey God, whoever you are, why don't you care?

does anyone recall the old line we used to pull on bible students:

"If you had the power to stop pain and suffering what would you do?"

of course we never realized we should have been asking the same question of believers-

when one sees this type of death and destruction one has to realize that if there is a god he is pretty slow in getting out of the starting gate

just this evening they are talking about how someone in boston will have to be responible for have 2 planes get off the ground at that airport

so here we have some $5.25 per hour rent a cop who is going to be blamed for not cking someones bag carefully enough instead of eating that doughnut this morning and letting these dudes get thru

yet no one ever considers holding the all powerful "OZ" responible for anything

looking back i really can see how faith is blind as a bat

here you have a "GOD" who is the only one who can stop something- he decides to chill out while it happens and then no one ask the question

Hey god what were you and the billions and billlions of angels doing as you all sat there in heaven and saw that 757 make that hard bank to the left and head back toward the wtc

i guess he just got his cup of tea freshen up a tab

    how sad-

I suppose that you are one of those christians who thinks that the jews are gods chosen? If so, would i be right in supposing that you would feel it was right for israelis to take away the property, businesses and bank accounts of palistinians?

Perhaps. But mine is only to ask. It doesn't mean the answer will be "yes." If the answer is "no", then who am I to point a finger at my Creator? I expected to get a little static from this post. If you want to believe that there is no God, then that's your business. I only replied because a statement such as:

Save your prayers for when god gives evidence he gives a shit.

implies that those who do believe in a Creator should forsake their beliefs. Of course, under normal circumstances I wouldn't fault someone for not believing the same as I. Yet in response to the above quote, I felt compelled to be a bit of an ass.
