For those that broke up with a boy/girlfriend or a spouse, how do you know that you made the right decision?

I know we reached the right decision because my stomach stopped hurting, my energy came back and I felt like I could breathe again. Sometimes I miss my ex but then I remember how it was at the end. It is better now.

My 30 years of nightmares stopped, I felt such a total relieve and I've never missed that man for one minute since leaving him 5 years go. I was married to him 30 years. Bad relationships are totally draining, when the draining stops it feels so good, that you can actually smile again.

    • Is the family home a haven or do you feel unwelcome in your own home?
    • Does your spouse take you to the hospital or let you fend for yourself in an emergency?
    • Does your spouse compliment you or only criticize?
    • Is the sex good, average, bad, or nonexistent?
    • In the eyes of your spouse, what's more important? You or your paycheque?
    • Does your spouse like or dislike your family?

If all answers are negative, as it was in my case, it's probably time to move on.

    Hi greendawn,

I knew I made the right decision because I was able to breathe again, slept well and felt at peace. The hardest part was coming to the decision, which was analyzed from every direction and perspective over a period of time.
