The OT does not contain the word "apostate". The correct rendering is "ungodly."

Besides, I rejected an organization full of prophets.

Those prophets have predicted the annihilation of 99.95% of the earth's population. This earth-shattering event was to take place in ~~1874~~ ~~1914~~ ~~1925~~ ~~1975 but you didn't hear it from us~~ ~~this generation surely will not pass~~ .

Here is what God has to say about prophets who predict in His name and get it wrong:

Deut 18:20-22 But the prophet who dares to speak in My name a message I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods—that prophet must die. ’ You may say to yourself, ‘How can we recognize a message the Lord has not spoken?’ When a prophet speaks in the Lord ’s name, and the message does not come true or is not fulfilled, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

That's enough reason for me to steer clear of the prophets from the Watchtower.

P.S. Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.

In the light of your comments about "those rejecting Jesus", what would you like to say to me as someone who has absolutely rejected him? I have to say that you came across as about as smug and judgemental as any Jehovah's Witness I ever knew.

When I spoke of "those people who make a public display of rejecting Jesus at their "memorial"" I assumed it was evident I was referring exclusively to Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm not aware of any other group that calls itself Christian and engages in this practice. If I come across as judgmental, it's directed toward Jehovah's Witnesses who whine and complain about "apostates", and try to turn the word "apostate" into a derogatory term, while conveniently forgetting that their own belief system finds its roots in what they themselves call "apostasy".

I really don't care in the least about anyone's belief system or lack of one.

I'm aware of that and I'm not stirring for an argument but the title of the topic is 'Guess what's gonna happen to us Apostates' and I most decidedly AM an apostate. So my genuine question remains, what is my fate? Do you consider it to be the same as the Jesus 'snubbing' Jehovah's Witnesses you deride?

Now here's a contentious point of view and I point out once again that no offence is intended.

If a man speaks sarcastically or judgementally about Pakistani people and is challenged on it by a European or African individual would it be a defence to say; "I assumed it was evident I was referring exclusively to Pakistanis."

I like some of the newer versions of hell. I saw a Far Side comic that had the Devil leading a bunch of old ladies doing leg lifts: "999,997, 999,998, 999,999, 1,000,000! Now the left leg!" It was titled "Aerobics in Hell."

me too - but my very favorite two Gary Larsons were the airline pilot saying to his right seat, "Gosh, now what would a bighorn sheep be doing way up here in a cloud bank?" - that and the Russian Circus dancing bear saying to his roller skating buddy (about the muzzle staps) - "did you ever notice that these things just snap right off?"

Seriously speaking- can anyone think of anything more horrible than having a clone of yourself going to penta-weekly meetings and having constant vegatarian picnics forever on their 1 & 1/4 acres (2.5 hectares - thank you Awake magazine) of land forever?

Thanks for the scripture...as a witness you think you know the bible inside and out...but I don't remember this one. I think I will ask my 'Stilla witness sister' what that scripture means considering witness don't do that...Thanks!
