Uncle Earnest from eastern Kentucky (USA) died last year at 103. He was very active on his farm up to the last month of his life which he spent in a nursing home (which he hated). Grandma was 97 from Evansville, Indiana (USA).
How "old" is the oldest person who lived in your family?

my great grandmother died at age 106, of unnatural causes, ran down by a drunk driver while hoeing her garden in Missouri, drunk ran through the fence and got her before she could get out of the way. She was there with her sister who is supposed to have been two years older than her at the time, she the sister (my great aunt?) died two years later.

In the United States the odds of living to 100 are about 1 in 10,000. My g-grandfather was born in 1802- died in 1905- 103yrs old. His last sired child was my grandmother, born when he was 80yrs old. He outlived his first two wives. Good Irish/american stock. Back then the odds were probably more like 1 in 100,000. peace, Moshe
