I feel that beginning to ask the questions and to begin a true search for God is the best beginning. Pray to Him and don't feel as if you need to find the answers right away.

God promises that if you search for Him as for hid treasure He will let Himself be found for He is not far off from each one of us!

I feel a relationship with God is a journey and one which He directs if you have the right heart motivation. I feel He will bring you closer to Him as you allow Him to move in your life.

I sure didn't feel that I would find Him, but He brought me to Him and He has given me great joy! I feel that you will find it as well if you do not give up in finding the answers to your questions. No one else can find the answers for you, you must find them yourself.

Search for Him and He will let Himself be found!

I have no answers the best part of the journey out is finding your own way and honestly there is no hurry just listen to your heart and your head it will guide you.

Welcome Tremoka! It sounds to me that you have judged all religion by the experiance you've had with two fringe belief systems. I could be wrong, but are you looking for a cosmology that transcends the limitations of what you presently know about organized religion? Certainly there exists a more inclusive approach to humanities relationship to the metaphysical. I left the JWs over 40 years ago for some of the same reasons, at least what I perceive to be similar ones.

I hope you are able to set aside as much of the brainwashing you've had from two fringe faiths and seek reality with an open mind and a pure heart.

Welcome to the board, I too am married to a inactive husband who is still a true believer in the JW beliefs (we both were raised JW's) and for the past 22yrs I tried to be a good JW but I finally have had enough. It is hard to celebrate the holidays and as some have said just take it one at a time and over time you will get past the guilt. We will be looking forward to your future posts.
