I believe the theme for this years convention is "Deliverance at Hand".

How much of the talk was on this subject?

Did the Watchtower hint about when the time of the end will be? This year? Months? weeks?

Was this really their main topic?

    Thanks.

For the record, I was no where near the joint, however, another poster graced us with this, earlier on. I believe that it sums up the convention (and the bOrg) PERFECTLY!!! But during announcements, if you want to make a donation by check please make it out to "Watch Tower". That is Watch Tower with 2 words. Finally, some explicit instructions! Yes, Brother's, as far as information that will affect your lives, we will be purposely vague or withhold information from you, however please ensure your check is filled out properly.

The study articles can illustrate that. On an average, one or more key words in the title appear in each paragraph so that out of 20 paragraphs, 20 or more times. At the conventions, the brothers insert the key words in every part, even in the demonstrations of considering the day's text and the WT summary which may not have any direct mention originally. Even in the prayers, the "theme" is inserted, as if God needed a reminder. Besides the program game down below, I used to do hash marks every time the key word was mentioned. After the first day and 40 or more marks, I stopped.

Hubert, towards the last few conventions, I used to play several games regarding the "theme" and how often words or synonyms were used in 1) the printed program 2) in the talks. I can demonstrate with the program.

Sorry, I posted this this morning before going to work, and didn't get back to the computer until a little while ago.

Stealth, yes, I saw that post also. That was interesting.

Blondie, looks like I was wrong in thinking they might have put up another date, or time frame for the end, in this convention. Looks like not much has changed, same old doggy doo.

I love how you broke the convention down as far as the "Deliverance" category. That was cool !!!

    Thanks....

    *** Watchtower - September 1, 2005 ****

    This was found in the article titled "The last days are here" page 6, paragraph 2;

The end will be December 12, 2006 at 4:15 PM and 5 Seconds. Unless of course, you are in the wrong time zone. Then it will be based on Greenwich time and work out accordingly. Celebration punch will be served at 4:14 PM to celebrate, the special packages of powder to be added to the punch for flavor, should be prepared before hand. Elders are to make sure it is heavily mixed, and anyone not willing to drink should be taken to the backroom and handled in the manner laid out in the letter sent to the elders on July 15, 2005. See you all in the new system Brothers, it is only down to few days now. John 13:13, 1 Cor 3:3, Gen 15:33, Rev 3:4

what the heck does 'at hand' mean? For the rest of society it means soon, real soon! Then there is the jw definition. I wonder if my kids & I can start using the jw definition when jw in our home wants something done 'soon'? How well do you suppose that would go over?

JW: I thought you said you would clean your room?

Child: Oh I will, real soon dad.

JW: Soon? You mean as in now, right?

Child:Sure dad, a clean room is at hand any day now! Right around the corner! Soon.

I shall leave it to your imagination how that conversation could go between a husband and wife! bwahahahaha

Free2beme,.....You ARE kidding, aren't you? I know the rest of what you wrote can't be in there, but I'm not sure if you were kidding about this part.

PLEASE ! Tell me this is real? .....(and where I can get my hands on it).

It's just a joke, hubert. The WTS is strange in many ways but since 1975, they would never venture to name a year, let alone a month, day, and exact time.
