  If it is temors in the hands, then how is it that the board answers questions that those using the board do not have the answer to?

  Years ago, in my pre-JW days, I had a board that my husband and I found entertaining. A teenage boy in the neighborhood said he did not believe it and if it were really able to tell answers, then it could tell us his middle name. We had just met him and had NO WAY of knowing his middle name. The Board spelled out "LWOOD". You should have seen the look on his face . His middle name in fact was Elwood, but the board always spelled things the easiest way. So even if my whole body had been tremoring, it would not have caused his middle name to be spelled. So I do not buy that theory.

  Of course I threw the board out when I found THE TRUTH!

  My cousins had a board and sometimes we would try using it with only one person. Wouldn't work. One night the 2nd youngest tried it by himself, and it started working. He screamed and jumped off the couch and went to his room.

  I figure the reason it worked for him is because he was born on Halloween. That board also gave the name of the 2nd oldest's first wife, whom he had not met yet.

  We can all tap into the collective unconscious. Your having access to that information does not necessarily presuppose your having contacted an intelligence entirely outside of your own.

  The specific "trick" of the planchette moving on it's apparent own can be explained by the ideometer effect (now that I've rediscovered my links).

  Also, in our case, when we used the board during the day, it was sluggish. At night, the later it got, the quicker it would move, especially from around 10:00p.m. until the early a.m.

  So if it is about tapping into the collective consciousness, why do we need the board to do it?? Why can't any of us just do it any time we want? If I want to know what someone else knows, I should just be able to ask and presto, there it is.

  And then there was the time the board starting giving information that no one had asked for pertaining to an event that would be in the newspaper the following day. It had not happened yet so none of us knew it.

  So then the board should be able to tell Steve who is in his apartment because even if it is a spirit, it would be part of this collective consciousness and his knowledge would be shared whether he liked it or not.

  It seems to me that there are areas of the mind of each of us that seem to overlap every so subtley.

  This is quite typical. At night, we feel more "otherwise" than we do during the day, more in touch with strangeness.

  You don't need it. It's a facilitator. You don't need a car to get from point A to point B, but you'll get there a heck of a lot faster if you use one.

  Time is not linear. We only perceive it as such. So says Einstein anyway.

  So then the board should be able to tell Steve who is in his apartment because even if it is a spirit, it would be part of this collective consciousness and his knowledge would be shared whether he liked it or not.

  Trying to apply a set of rules to it would be a mistake. Just because it should be able to, does not mean that it will.

  Sorry Daystar, no offense meant, but,

  Overlaping minds doesn't cut it for me and my opinion on the board moving quicker as the night progressed is the demons are more active at night.

  You have your perception that it is demons. As perception is over 90% of our shared illusion here on this plane, I suppose it is every bit as valid (to you) as people who believe as I do (and DS, if I'm reading correctly) in what Jung coined as the uncollective consciousness as an explanation.

  I have used Oiuji boards, pendulums, psychics, etc. to contact the otherside (the superconsciousness) but prefer my Tarot cards to do so. I have done and encountered things that you would undoubtedly perceive as demonic activity. I do not.

  We each have reached our own conclusions, that's all.

  I think it has more to do with "presentation" on their part, rather than "perception" on our part. You think the opposite. Someday, we will both find out for sure.
