My mission...Help please

  I will be going to the convention soon. I'm working on a flyer to leave in bathroom stalls. This is what I have so far -

  SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:

  • What if it’s NOT the “truth?”
  • If it’s not the truth, are you wasting your life?
  • How many families and lives have the Witnesses ruined?
  • Why so many rules, and the need to spy on your friends?
  • How old is the “generation” of 1914 getting? (Are any really still alive?)
  • Remember 1975, and all the other years the Governing Body put forth as “the end?”
  • What is wrong with getting an education?
  • Is an education a bad thing? Why?
  • Why are you not supposed to think for yourself, or ask “hard” questions?
  • If smoking is bad because you are “defiling” your body – what about obesity?
  • Did you know that the “society” now says “blood fractions” are a conscious matter?
  • How many needlessly died before this “new light” came to be?
  • Is the governing body inspired this year? One year they are, the next their not…
  • Are you serving God or an organization run by man?
  • Does the society fear the Internet because the real “truth” can be found there?
  • Have you heard of the book 1984? You may be living in an “Orwellian World.”
  • Is the NWT a real bible?

  Any thoughts or comments on ways to improve this would be helpful.

  I wouldn't mention the question about whether or not it's the truth right at the top. The majority of JWs would stop reading right there. Could you word it so that a few nagging questions get planted in their brain before they realize that it's "apostate"?

  I would ask something less "apostateeeee" at the beginning........maybe someone could get through a few lines before chunking it.

  Simple, to the point, only requires a glance to understand and will cause the person to think back on it even if they at first scoff at it.

  I was a loyal witness for more than 47 years before I came to realize they did not have “the truth.” I hope it does not take you that long. Mine was a wasted life. And a wasted life is a terrible thing.

  i kinda like elsewheres idea...........one glance and you get it all.......

  might not have to be that topic.......but you cannot help but notice the whole message before getting rid of it.

  The details of my life are quite inconsequential. My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium, who was a Jehovah Witness. He had low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen-year-old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. She was studying to be a Witness when they married. She already had two bastard sons and they had webbed feet also, along with a very limited IQ. I never was able to see eye to eye with them, as they never matured. - Or grew taller than 4 feet. They also suffered from an extremely bad body odor. (They grew up to become Elders in the local congregation.) When my father was not going door to door, he would womanize, he would drink, and he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possesses and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets and attend District Conventions. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really, this was taught by the Witnesses as a way to prepare the young for the way the world would treat them. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

  It's genius, pure genius. Your bio, I mean. And a shorn scrotum is truly breathtaking!!

  One editorial correction on your list. The item about the governing body being inspired - it should be they're, not their, at the end of the sentence.
