    G'day all,

It's been a while but here we are again with some notes of a wine that, ever seeking a fresh taste, has been chosen this month.

This month's selection came about on the occasion of the World Cup Final. I was going to visit a bar (at 4 in the morning!!) where the match was shown on a large screen. So what would we choose for the occasion? Well, ever true to type, I chose a .................shiraz! What else, you might say, eh?

But looking through what was on offer, I came across a wine that i hadn't seen before so I thought that'd be just right for such a festive occasion.

    I had the 2003 Shiraz.

The label says it has rich fruit, cherry and spice aromas with berry flavors.

Our finding was that yep, sure does. Very velvety and soft. Just right for a party or barbeque. It would nicely complement a beef steak.

Mrs Ozzie's verdict: She loved it!

So look out for it - I don't think you'd be disappointed.

    Cheers, Ozzie

    G'day Jeff,

Long time, no hear! 'Owyergoin mate?

Dunno if it's available in the states - honestly I didn't know it was available here until last week!!!

It's quite inexpensive, so it 'd be worth looking for.

Say G'day to all at home from Mrs Ozzie and me.

    Cheers, Ozzie

Yep we have a good selection in one of the stores here too. I will take a look. Wifey might even like it - she generally likes the sweeter varieties, I like a semi-sweet dry mostly.

Haven't been around as much lately Oz - I think the healing is coming along pretty well now and I just don't show up as often - but for the likes of such wonderful posters here I would drop the whole thing - but then life is about that, huh? Friends I mean - digitally known or otherwise.

Cheers - [toasting all the digital friends here]

Has anyone here ever tried a White Shiraz? I just bought a bottle but it's been too hot to cook a meal worthy of opening it for.

LOL @ Popeoferuke. You're scaring me, I'll be sure not to have guests over when I open the bottle. It is Australian and it's not really white, it's pink. But they call it White Shiraz and since I like Australian Shiraz so much, I thought it was worth a try.

I don't think we can get the one Ozziepost is recommending. But I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for it.
