Actually - just heard it's the hottest day we've ever had in Britain (96F) - am sweating like a nun in a cucumber patch here.

It was 99 degrees in the NY Metro Area yesterday with a dewpoint of 72. If you opened the door it was like opening an oven to check on something baking.

It has been 99 degrees for days here. It is 100 today with humidity soaring. Like opening the door to a blast furnace and not able to turn away. Damn, I hate it. Give me cold temperatures.

I'm used to a high of 16C / 60F. The 70s are great, and the high 80s are positively roasting.

I could get used to summers in the high teens/low 20s. Celsius, of course.

We've been reaching mid to high 20's with Humidex readings in the high 30/low 40s. It's too hot for me!

In sunny Essex it reached 34degrees. I have a colleague who lives in Glasgow and he said he was roasting!!

Roasting? He should live in England. Sometimes I think in mindset we are closer to the mediterranean than we are to our neighbours Scotland.

No offence, but I can't believe your not just slightly jealous of our glorioius weather. People pay loads for a holiday to the sun and we have it on our own doorstep.

P.S Went to Skye two years ago - beautiful place but less than half the temperature it was when we left the South East!

Great food and accomodation at the Three Chimneys in Colbost by the way!!!

It makes me wish I was in Stornaway today. It's been in the 90's here all day, and is still pretty hot now. It was like working in a sauna in the office, especially when the sun was shining on our windows this afternoon. If it was only 72, we'd probably be wearing jackets to keep warm.

Supposed to be pushing into the 90s by the weekend. As long as I don't have to run or bike in it, I love it!

It'll be 88 F here tomorrow. I've been living in upper 80s - 100 F. for last 2 weeks. I think I'm getting used to it. In fact hot weather is an excuse for using my new gas grill. BBQ anyone?
