  I have heard a few things about this before but Im unsure of the real story.

  Anyone fill me in?

  If I recall correctly, the brief version is that Rutherford had a nice luxury villa made, at members' expense, supposedly to house the 'Ancient Worthies' (Abraham, Sarah, Abel, etc) who, it was claimed, would be resurrected around 1925. Because of the 'disappointment' that no dead people came to live there, Rutherford decided it would be go to best use by him living there instead. (What a martyr!) He lived there until his death, after which it was sold for a tidy sum.

  I just had a look on Google Earth and found this at Lat 32.772620 Lon -117.091351

  

  It looks very much like Beth Shan is still reasonably intact.

  This aerial photo of the Beth-Shan residences was taken after its sale in 1945. The building at upper right is the main Beth-Shan residence. The long building to the left of the cul-de-sac is the "goat barn" which had a secret bomb shelter (as did the main residence). The air strip at top left was not built by the Society, but was built by Bruster Gillies in 1945 after he purchased the property from the Society.

  In one of the threads I listed above I believe Farkel said an Asian man - not a JW owns it now. And people still drop by to ask questions and photograph the place.

  I remember when you pulled the chronology on this Lady Lee. Good job. From Google Earth it appears there is an addition now. And a swimming pool.
