Does anyone else work away from home for extended periods?

I've never had to work away from home for more than six weeks. I actually found that regular trips of a few days were worse. At one point I was travelling every week or so, for 2-3 days a time. That was getting unbearable.

Six months? That would be an experience

I know exactly what you mean there.

The constant too-ing and fro-ing is unsettling and is way too much; I am usually away from home for about 4 nights each month and sometimes those nights are consecutive but when they are sporadic its horrendous.

A long stretch of time is easier to deal with (in my view) because you can adjust and look forward to the end of the trip when you will be back to familiar surroundings.
