I just wanted to give you a heads up (unless of course you’re spearheading this operation) that all letters from the Watchtower to the body of elders of worldwide Kingdom Halls has been posted at this link:
Here is a nifty way to pull down these letters using Acrobat. Otherwise it will take forever for everyone to download these hundreds of letters. There are 105MB total! I used the full-blown version of Acrobat version 7.0 (the Professional version). I think you can use the regular Acrobat full-blown release in version 7.0 or previous versions. Pass this info to others.
Select File menu
- Create PDF option – From Web Page
- Type or paste this URL into the URL field: http://www.reexamine.org/BOE/
- Enter 2 levels for “Get only __ level(s)
- Select Create
In a span of 1-2 hours on a fast DSL connection, 105MB of letters 476 pages will be added to a single PDF file. After the operation is completed select Save and enter a filename. You will have a file that is approx. 105MB in size. I haven’t tried it, but you can probably compress this file further using WinZip or other zip program to make it smaller for email or download. You might want to consider burning these letters (each in PDF) to a CD for distribution (if you haven’t thought of this already).
I’m betting you’ve thought of all of this (and might be behind the operation) but if not, I hope you can pass the above info to others so they can get the letters without having to download hundreds of letters one at a time!
